I purchased 4 of these fans to replace 12 yr old Hunter Original fans on my front porch which faces a large brackish body of water. The old ones still functioned, but they had been beaten up by several different hurricanes and tropical storms blowing them around and breaking blades and blade brackets over the years…..and I robbed parts off other fans to keep them running this long. All is well for the first week after installation of the new fans, as they hang from the 36” dowel rod extensions. They are operating smoothly and quietly. I was pleasantly surprised that these lower priced hunter fans feel almost as heavy and well built as the originals, and are priced a fraction of the originals. Time will tell if they hold up in our very harsh windy waterfront environment.
