Protection

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have not tested for chainsaw safety & hopefully I won't. But materials feel high quality and confident protection is adequate. The legs cover enough area with little exposure. So I will be wearing with shorts in the warm months.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm 5'10 and wear 32x30 pants. These fit perfectly over my boots. Now I don't get wood shreds in my boots. Buckles make it easy to get on and off. I feel protected wo being too weighted down.

Good protection

Awesome chaps

I wore them all-day today. got up in the morning put them on and did not take them off until I got ready to relax after finishing cutting up a down tree that I fell. I have even taken a mile walk on a gravel road.  Being chaps, the power stays at 5 stars.

Peace of Mind Protection

Bought these in 2018 to wear while cutting cedar brush. Didn't think I needed them, but wanted to be safe. Today while cutting on a hillside, I lost concentration on the saw for a second watching a tree fall, and it pivoted in my left hand brushing my left shin. The chain was still spinning but not under load, and it cut right thru the orange outer cover. The white material stopped the chain and kept me from getting injured. I'm ordering a new pair this evening. 

I'm 6'3”, and the 40/42 fit well. I wouldn't want the shorter size.

These work. Worth every penny.

The sizes list the length first (36 and 40). I bought the 36 because thats what my local store had. I wear 36in inseam pants, and these chaps only go maybe 2/3 of the way down my shins. No problem with boots, but if you're tall get the 40in size. Others they're great except the waist strap could be thicker for more comfort.

Sizing is confusing but good chaps

Very heavy duty, I like the pockets and the way that the straps adjust. Have not cut it with a chainsaw, fortunately.

Seems high quality and durable, fairly comfortable during summer use, very comfortable during all other weather conditions.  I wish the waist strap was more heavy duty, I am able to attach a pouch w/wedges and a small camp axe.  But that may be pushing the limit of the waist strap durability. The length sizing is odd. I'm 6' 32" inseam and the long is the correct length for me.

Good safety upgrade

I am 6'1 with a 34 leg. I found these chaps too long. 36-38 are great if you are 6'5". When I put them on all the protection stopped 2 inches above my knee and the rest bulked around my lower leg. There was nothing covering my thigh but nylon. In order to properly protect my thigh I had to hike the chaps up below my ribs and tighten the leg straps to the point they were cutting into me. They stayed in that position for about 5 steps.  When I did return them I was told I may need to have them custom made. Never had this issue with my other brand of chaps.
Maybe a few different leg length options should be available.

Bought and then immediately returned them.
