Great bike!

I got it 4 days ago and the bike feels great but the second gear is bad. Every time I pedal it jumps a tooth and is impossible to pedal but every other gear works fine

Bad second gear

You cannot have a trail bike with these much features for such a low price. The build quality and parts are low end for a pro, but perfect for an entry-level biker. This bike has the capability to compete high-end brands of you wish to install some aftermarket parts. Front suspension is good, rear suspension - is useless. Shimano altus derailleur and 9 speed cassette is good, disk brakes are not so awesome, but does the job. Best bike for this price. PS: This bike is not meant for rough trails, jumps and stunts with the stock parts.

The only best big box bike

I bought this as I joined a local cycling club for MTB riding as a retiree. I'm new to cycling. The Walmart ad showed in pictures and writing that it had Shimano Altus rear derailleur and handlebar shifter. I have had good luck in the past with this model. The bike came with a Falcon rear derailleur, Falcon 9 geared cassette and Falcon shifter. These seem aftermarket and not of the quality of Shimano.
The bike assembly was easy and intuitive, even though I'm new to bike maintenance. The disc brakes fit in easy and worked well, and the gear shifting was responsive on the level 300m I tired it out on. I returned the bike the next day solely because it was not as advertised regarding Shimano gearing. I didn't want to take the chance and use it, then to have it break, ands return a used bike. Walmart should edit out the Shimano web images & descriptors.
The return process with Walmart was no hassle.

Good bike for light trail, but not as advertised

You just can't get a bike anywhere else at this price point. The suspension is very low end but replaceable . The fork in particular is very poor quality suitable for a rider of about 160lbs although it's rated for 275 lb rider. Leaking oil and bottomed out first ride. The brakes are a decent mechanical set. The drivetrain is very good with quality shimano. 
The rims are single wall and the handle bars are short. It mimics a high end bike but is suitable for only light trail riding unless upgrades are done. Still a good price and overall quality for your dollar. Do not attempt downhill riding as the manufacturer suggests

Great Frame

I bought this a few years ago and it's been through abuse. I've went though 2 gear boxes, 2 chains, a set of pedals, and now 1 derailleur on it. The bike itself feels sturdy. I would advise anyone who gets the bike to immediately replace any plastic on the bike. Mainly the plastic support or brace for the shock under your seat, and the derailleur with the plastic bits on it. The pieces will crack or bend over time with moderate to heavy use. I would also replace the chain for something a bit stronger.

Love the bike but always have some type of problem

Pedal broke after 5 rides.  Stripped inside the crank arm.  Getting it replaced will cost half the price of the bike!

Horrible quality

The hardware they put is not shimano it's falcon and it breaks down after 2nd used and it was advertised as shimano parts

Not satisfied

Wrong color and misaligned front wheel. Handlebar bolt was damaged.
