[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a professional Mac consultant, I get to test a ton of USB C hubs. Once Apple Silicon laptops started shipping, we started seeing all sorts of display/wake issues related to USB C hubs. This hub though has been bulletproof. I continue to recommend it to clients. If I could change anything about it, I'd swap 2 of the USB-A ports for USB-C, move the PD-in port to a slightly less awkward position, and add SD card slots. But all in all, it makes a great travel hub that I know will always work without hiccups.

Consistent operation, doesn't suffer from display wake issues like cheaper brands

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Hyperdrive Tube 6-in-1 hub that I purchased is exactly like advertised. It looks, fits, and performs as one would expect of the quality hub that it is. It adds the ports that I needed for my MacBook Air 2020. I am pleased with this transaction.

Just what I needed

I have ordered/owned several USB-C hubs from HYPER for my MacBook Pro:

1) performed without any problems
2) extend access with legacy USB-A accessory
3) conned via ethernet
4) well designed and excellent quality
5) compact (this is the main reason I choose HYPER)

So far, until all accessory either become native USB-C or wireless, I am looking to HYPER for their next product.

Now I am trying it on my iPad Pro...

So many reviews for USB/ethernet thunderbolt dongles point out that the ethernet port doesn&#x27;t work at or requires a Realtek driver. This one worked out of the box with my 2018 15&quot; macbook pro, as did the USB ports. It&#x27;s also a nice looking device that exudes quality and matches Apple&#x27;s &quot;Space Grey.&quot;

Ethernet works!

This is a companion hub to my 7-in-1 for my MacBook Pro. With increased traffic on my home WiFi, I wanted to connect directly to my router and this hub is perfect for that task as well as providing an HDMI connection to an external monitor. It works great but it does get a bit warm with all-day use.

Perfect for the home office!

Pros: it works
Cons: you cannot use it if you have a case on. I actually had to cut off a section of the case( good thing it is not expensive) in order to use the hub.
It is still not perfect - the hub sticks a couple of millimeters above the body, thus preventing full lid closure which also has case cover.
Bottom line - buy it only if your MBP is naked or be prepared to take the case off every time you want to use the hub

Good idea , needs improvement

I have (2) of these that worked as advertised for about a month. However, after just a handful of cord inserts/removals, both are now very iffy re: RJ45 Ethernet port physical connectivity. The flip up part is plastic (vs. rest of hub that is aluminum) and seems to easily get worn out. Rubber bands and/or tape needed now to keep RJ-45 plug on ethernet cable firmly seated into hub. If you plan to use Ethernet, then do NOT plug/unplug often into the hub or it will fail. IF cable left in hub and hub is removed from laptop only, you should be OK.

Ethernet Port Very Flimsy

I've only used this hub a couple times so far so can't give an in-depth review but there are a couple pros and cons about this hub that I've noticed so far.

Pros:
- USB-C port supports both charging data transfer!! Most hubs only do one or the other
- Good looking and compact

Cons:
- Does not support HDCP so HDMI port useless for displaying iTunes movies and TV shows on a display which for me is the main reason for having an HDMI port
- USB 3 port doesn't line up correctly with the hole in the outer casing which diminishes the look of an otherwise high-quality looking device

Nearly Brilliant

We kept running into performance issues while doing Zoom streaming with Atem mixer and USB sound mixer when we were using other USB hub on the MacBook Pro. It is also important for us to be cabled for Internet stability. So I decided to give this product a try. We did not run into any video issues last time, the only but major issue is were not able to use the network card, no way would Apple detect it, we've tried all solutions we could find. So, we had to plug a second single USB network card which the Mac recognized immediately.

Great idea but issue with Network card.

I pre-ordered this product and was excited to give it a try. After using it, I realise the connector is loose and it gets disconnected even with the slightest touch. I also ran Internet speed tests. The results were mind-bothering. It showed that WiFi is faster than Ethernet!? 

For functionality, I give it 1 star as it is difficult to work with.

Do not purchase this product.
