I love potatoes in just about any type of way made but early last year I found out I have osteoarthritis in my hands wrists and it's pretty bad to the point where it makes doing things with my fingers pretty uncomfortable so I've really simplified my cooking after I found out I had that so any type of food that is fairly easy for me to prepare is all the better and these instant potatoes are actually a real blessing. They have a good taste they are real potatoes it's not like they're artificial so I feel like when I make other things with them I'm having a nice little meal. For example today I made these potatoes with baked beans and two Schneiders beef pies so it makes a nice little filling meal for myself. Quite honestly if I were to be blindfolded and eat these instant mashed potatoes and some regular mashed potatoes that were mashed to the same type of consistency and texture I probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference the only way to kind of tell the difference is if you bite little chunks of potato if regular mashed potatoes are not mashed completely smooth but taste wise these taste not like instant to me. I've had instant potatoes for example in Swanson frozen dinners I buy one that I really like with turkey and a brownie but those instant potatoes taste like instant potatoes they're very thin not much texture and not much of a potato taste. If I had guests over I would serve Idahoan instant potatoes and not even feel bad about it.

Very tasty, very close to regular mashed potatoes.

When you're pressed for time, these potatoes are great and really affordable.  The price has doubled within the last year but they're still a bargain and very easy to cook, just add water.  If you don't mind dried mashed potatoes, these are the best I've ever had, all the flavors.  Great for making a quick and easy Shepherd's pie.
