Good item but a quick connector is missing with the tank.
This quick connector is required and not included.
There is no information about the model of the required connector in the instructions and no mention on the ISE web site. It took me 3 weeks to get one .
ISE should include this piece in the box !

Good water heater

We replaced our old InSinkErator tank of 4+ years because we have found that they fail shortly after the warranty period. We kept the old faucet, because there was nothing wrong with it. After installing the new tank we found that the flow rate was much less than our previous tank. It takes about twice as long to fill the same container. What a disappointment.

Low flow

I am quite handy and when my unit leaked all over the inside of my cabinet I called the company and was told that my unit was manufactured in 2008 and I was out of warranty. I went ahead and opened the unit and found that a simple rubber hose that brings hot water from the tank to the outtake valve was split and called the company back to order a part that shouldn't cost more than a few dollars. I was told that I needed a whole new unit which they offered at a discount. I can't believe I needed to buy an entire unit for an 8" rubber hose. That is NOT what I call customer service.

The 149.00 leak

We liked our heater a lot. It didn't get quite as hot as coffee should (200) but worked well for our pour over, tea, oatmeal, etc. for almost 5 years. Then, like others have mentioned, dead. Going in, something to keep in mind.

Pretty good; until it died at 5 years

This is a replacement of an earlier unit which leaked under my sink and rotted the wood. It was a slow leak, so I didn't catch it in time. I never thought that a stainless hot water dispenser would fail at the plumbing connections at the top of the tank, which it did. Just for the heck of it, I took the old tank apart (not difficult, most of the screws were rusted), just to see what it looked like. the heating coil had lime deposits, but could easily be cleaned. However, the connections out of the top could not be tightened, and I noticed leakage when the unit was heating. As for this replacement tank, just like its predecessor, it's vent tube is too short. I had to raise the tank, which obstructed part of my electrical outlet. Extra length would have been helpful.

Shouldn't have to replace every 3 to 4 years

Another (my second) has now failed prematurely.  This one lasted all of 3 years 2 months.  Verdict: Great convenience, Terrible design.   It is unfathomable to me that this well-known brand continues to manufacture a product that fails so oftem  (read the reviews...).  or maybe they just like using planned obsolescence to prop up sales?

If you MUST buy one, invest in the best leak detection system you can afford.... my cabinet is ruined because despite the alarm, we were away when it decided to fail.

Designed to fail.   Unfortunately

I built my house 19 years ago and this is the fourth unit , tank , I needed to replace due to leaking tank  , only lasts anywhere from 3-5 years , which always puts it out of warranty , you were nice enough to give me a 50 % discount on this new tank and it leaked from the moment we installed it , thanks for replacing it at no charge , this is the last one I will buy , won't use this product ever again again , only reason I have been is because I am set up for connections under the sink for your product and it's easier just to swop out , but never again ! Will re plumb for a different manufacturer next time when this one fails !

Poorly manufactured tank

After reading the other reviews I am feeling good that we got 7 years before it started leaking. But not feeling good about our warped cabinet floor.  And to counter their reply ahead of time our water supply to the unit is through a reverse osmosis filtration system.  So it's not the damned water quality

Leaking tank

Not sure you will want my opinion, but here goes. I have had several Insinkerator hot water dispensers over the years; this last one lasted exactly 3 months before it completely stopped working. I appreciate the fact that the warranty covered the replacement, but 3 months - come on.

Love the ease of instant hot water, but product didn't last.
