I have had the faucet for somewhere over 25 years. It has worked almost almost flawlessly throughout, and still looks as good as the day I bought it. The cold water valve no longer locks in the "on" position, but there is an easy work-around: just put a cup or bottle of dish soap on the lever to block it open when you don't wish to hold it open.

We use it 2-10 times daily. Hot tea, instant coffee, or perhaps melting frozen veggies with hot water prior to going on the stove. I also use the hot water side to melt grease off of dishes.   It has outlived 3 of the under-sink water heaters.  

Other reviewers report a short life span on the parts. Perhaps there has been a change in quality over the years. I'd give it a full 5 stars, except for the absence of parts availability.

Despite its age, so far as I am aware, this is the only hot water dispenser valve which also dispenses the filtered water in hot and cold, so they get 5 stars on "innovation".  I guess innovation counts, regardless of how long ago it was done.

There are more little tubes under the sink than you might anticipate, and the valve installs cleanly in the hole where our flexible dish sprayer was located. It seems to have been designed to fit that traditional 2nd hole in the sink. This necessitated installing a new sink faucet with sprayer features built in to the raised spout.  Overall, that has proven to be a big improvement also.

Was a replacement for the same model. On the previous unit, the hot water handle mechanism had broken inside, and water ran continuously. Consequently, the replacement faucet was an easy install. One warning, however, is that there are two copper tubes that project downward from the faucet under the sink. Compression sleeves and nuts are not included with the faucet. Certainly inexpensive enough, but adds one additional trip to the hardware store. Not sure why Insinkerator did not feel compelled to include such simple hardware. Many other plumbing fixture companies include various different pieces of connection hardware for their products to make it as easy as possible for the DIY'er.

One other comment, initially the faucet dripped despite a thorough flushing of the unit, as well as pushing and pulling the handles (hot and cold) on and off in an effort to clear any debris that might have caused the valve inside not to seat correctly and shut off water flow completely. Then, two days after the install, it stopped dripping. So, be patient with your install. You probably did it correctly, and tincture of time was required to work out any debris or air bubbles that might be causing problems.

Easy install and does the job

The last one we had started to leak after a few years. This was essentially the same one, and was very easy to install. I cant completely recommend the product as the unit is not meant to be unassembled and cleaned, meaning that you may have problems after a few years when you use the hot or cold side. If you are handy, you can open the faucet from the top and drop in some lime a way or little wd40, but since the inside is essentially a plastic plunger and spring, it will wear out considerably earlier than a normal faucet. Recommend reading other reviews as well.

Good replacement product so far

This is our second one. We purchased the first dispernser with the heating unit. First one did not work past 5 years-not happy about that. Would be nice if there were available parts that could easily fix those dispensers from leaking (not turning off) or dripping. Pricy faucet but if you are willing to buy one every five years its okay. If this one last beyond 2018 it will be nice.

Attractive dispenser but only last five years

We have had our unit for approx. 15 years. The faucet gets SUPER hot when dispensing COLD water. Never figured out why. Also the hot water
Side randomly leaks. Sometimes it makes a grumbling noise several minutes after it was
Turned off and then spurts out hot water. Strange and unsafe. We

Faucet gets HOT when dispensing cold water - weird

with in 5 years i had to change the faucet 2 times the hot water lever gets stack and dose not go back to its off position it is a great product when working but goes bad to often it is a shame that this company dose not warranty it for a longer time and that they do not fix the problem ...... im in the processes of changing it for the 3rd time but to a different model and im hoping that the modern model will not give me this kinds of issue again.

I would not purchase this again.
Although a "discount" was given for my new product, it's retail price is so high that essentially I've paid for the product three times.
I should have learned my lesson the first time.
Franke's equivalent would have been a better investment.

This was my second unit where the faucet has failed over the past few years.

Love the convenience, look and features. Will probably get another one WHEN this one fails again.

Hate that it is essentially an expensive consumable that you have to plan on replacing every 3 years.

It should last for 5 years, but quality of construction for both the heater and dispenser is not great. Not even good at times.

We installed this around 4 months ago. About 2 months ago the cold water lever stopped staying in the 'on' position. Then 2 days ago the cold water stopped working entirely, and using the hot water causes water to leak out of the cold water lever base. Not a good lifespan for the product at all.

Wears out very quickly

This is the second identical unit I had to buy in 4 years because the first one failed - the hot water lever would stay on - after some research online I found there is no way to repair it - you have to buy a completely new unit. So I'm waiting to see how long this one lasts - it is a good product - producing very hot water instantly and room temp water - but it needs to last minimum 10 years - not 4. Warranty coverage didn't cover the failure.
