When we purchased our second home it came with a hot water heater. My husband came to love it. We moved four years later to another city. We purchased another home, but it did not have a hot water heater. My husband was devastated. How could he make his instant coffee each morning? So as we were renovating the kitchen I had the contractor put in a hot water heater as a surprise for my husband. A few years later the hot water heater stopped working. My husband was lost. He did not have the patience to use a tea kettle. I contacted InSinkErator and it was still under warranty. They sent a new one right away. I installed it myself while he was golfing. Happy husband, happy life!

The instahot is my favorite appliance in the whole of creation. I use it for making tea and coffee. It also provides a boost for boiling pasta or making rice. And I use the boiling water to clean fry pans and broiler pans after cooking. 

This is the fourth instahot I've purchased. Unfortunately, the tanks start to leak after a while, requiring replacement. Don't ruin your cabinetry by assuming the tanks are solid; leave a pan under them just in case.

Love it! And watch out for leaks

This product is very basic and provides tea temperature water immediately, no fuss, no muss. It is perfect for what I want. I do not have a kettle taking up space, nor do I need one. Whether it is filling my hot water bottle on those chilly nights or brewing a nice hot cup of tea, the gratification is immediate. I recommend this lifestyle of ease and this product to get you there.

Love our ISE product. It is our third ISE and we definitely use it. Just wished the salesman asked if we wanted brushed stainless steel/chrome or not. I will attempt to brush up ours to match all the Brushed Stainless Steel in our kitchen.

But we love it and glad we have it.

ISE- Much Needed

Boiling water in a pot is not for me so when our instant hot insinkerator died we immediately had to purchase a new one. The design is a bit different but everything else is the same. The only reason I gave it a good instead of an excellent on ease of installation is because the area under our sink is very small and crowded and it makes it extremely difficult to install the insinkerator without having to disconnect the garbage disposal first and then install and put the garbage disposal back together. It's fine if you're familiar with how to do it, but that installation was not for a beginner. I had to hire a plumber to install it. But I couldn't live with boiling water on the stove etc., this has been a life saver on many occasions. 
Plus it's extremely sleek and modern looking.

Can't live without this

After a lot of research, I chose the Involve H-Wave InSinkErator to replace my old hot water dispenser. Since this was a different manufacture, I was concerned the installation would not be simple. Not only was it simple, I only had to buy one pipe connector to connect the unit to my existing water line.

We've had the InSinkErator installed for several weeks and it delivers instant hot water for our tea and coffee.

Replacement for another hot water dispenser

We had new granite installed and ordered this new insta-hot. The hole put in the granite was standard for insta-hots; however, the plumber was unable to install because there has been a design change in the product that requires a larger hole than the previous model. After the granite installer returned and enlarged the hole we had to pay for the plumber to return. Because thissize is unusual, the customer should be flagged on this fact.

Installation requirements have changed!

Installation went well except that one would think if you replace an Insinkerator hot water faucet with an Insinkerator hot water faucet they would fit in the same hole. However, we were delayed about a week until the granite counter top people could get here to enlarge the hole 1/16 of an inch all the way around. The brass threads would make it through the original hole but there was not room for the plastic extender. The faucet replaced was installed in 2009, the type with a copper tank attached directly to the faucet. Over the 8 years of service it started over heating to a boil and could not be turned down. The copper tank eventually developed a leak. The new, more expensive unit is nice because it has an 18-8 stainless tank that can be located almost anywhere under the cabinet. It works well, doesn't boil all the time and the steam doesn't push the water out of the tank which made a delay of getting water because of the necessity yo vent the water vapor first. The temp. regulator on the new tank looks better, but is not the 200 degree factory set temperature. Turned all the way up it is about 180 degrees which is plenty hot for our purposes.

Installation and performance of Insinkerator hot water faucet

This is the 3rd unit since 2010. I get about 3 years of everyday use before the tank leaks. The first replacement unit was covered under warranty but was explained by the “warranty dept” that the next replacement would have to be installed by a Professional Plumber. So a few months ago the Replacement tank started to leak (3years) again. Instead of paying for a plumber I felt I would purchase a whole new unit with a new warranty. All done and works well. I opened the external covering on the tank to find excessive rust and corrosion around the seam for the two halves that make the water tank. I believe this is a poor design. I think it should be made of stainless steel With stainless steel hardware and not have a seam in the middle. Should be a tank and a cover. If this one goes I will look into other alternatives. My wife use it all day, everyday.

Nice look, ease of installation.

We have had an Insinkerator water heater in our kitchen sink since our house was built in late 1999. However, each has expired within a few months after the three year warranty expired. We have purchased replacements because we could find nothing else that is comparable and that would fit into the existing sink space. A more durable product would be much more useful. Probably not worth the money we've spent over the years.

The product is excellent when it works. However, this is our fourth replacement.
