Having instant Hot Water is a luxury but got this InSinkErator  for a low price that makes it affordable for everyone. Replaced an existing one, so installation was very simple.

I replaced this product for my mother that had purchased one several years ago, it started leaking under her sink, the new one is installed and working fine and probably will for a few years until the water tank rusts out.  I would suggest keeping a pan under the unit and check for leaking every few months.

InSinkErator

The product came with an integrated copper flex tube 1/4" for water coming in. It's for manufacturing default to connect to tap water source or manufacturing water filter system. This is NOT good because nowadays most people, especially if they buy this product, they more likely already had a drinking water filtration system in place with flex plastic 1/4" which can easily  make a T connection with a quick connector to tap into this product.  The user manual does NOT mention this nor providing any simple connector if not their default manufacturing setup - which aims for their other drinking water filter systems or tap water source; and this is not for the large population of users out there. 

Other than that, this is a good working product I recommend.

I fell in love with the insinkerator hot water dispenser sat my daughter's house so I had one installed. Unfortunately, I had the one with button installed. The button sticks in the down position when depressed to dispense water. We have to use a straight edge screwdriver to lift the button or the entire tank will empty. If I had a chance to reinstall, I would pay the extra $50 and get the model with the lever.

I wish it had more of a handle function than just the button so you could chose to turn it off when you need to. Other than that it is great - looks beautiful and usually is not stuck in the on position.

Sometimes the button gets stuck and the water will not turn off

We had our previous insinkerator for 12 years. It had a nickel finish and handle activator. Eventually the tank need replacing so I bought this unit. I had it professionally installed. From the first week we had issues with the button sticking. It continues to do this almost daily and if left unchecked will quickly drain our RO tank dry. To un-stick we have to wedge a butter knife against the edge of the button and try to pry it up. As an engineer I'm shocked that this ever left the prototype stage. It could probably be solved with a stronger spring and better sealing system around the button. Or a handle!!! So now we have a nice looking but un-useable insta hot. If that's what you want go for it.

Design Defect - Stuck Button

The temperature control rheostat assembly appears defective.  Rotating the temperature control knob in both directions revealed several substantially loose/reduced turning resistance areas along with several areas of tight/increased turning resistance.  One would expect that turning resistance of a quality rheostat to be constant across the entire selection range.  These inconsistent areas of resistance lead me to conclude this rheostat is defective and subject to failure.  Based on this finding I did not install the product and returned it to Walmart.

LACKS QUALITY

Performed well while it worked, but 5 years after purchase the unit started leaking from the bottom. Best I can tell, no way to service the unit short of replacing the whole thing for another couple a hundred dollars.

They don't last long.

Ugh, like other users, so frustrated with the "sticky button". I already replaced the dispenser one time about a year ago, it started up again about a month later, I have to oil it constantly and that only helps make it dribble out, but not stop. It's just a bad design. I love all Insinkerator products, including this one, just this push button thingy is not good.
