Wood

Sturdiness

This is a very nicely built piece. Solid wood! No veneers at all. Heavy! it will not slide around on any floor. The butcher block top is absolutely beautiful. The drawer slides very smoothly on it's tracks. I only wish that there were towel knobs on both sides. The racks are adjustable for different heights also.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a similar product.

Very pleased!!! When one orders items online, the delivered product is almost always a gamble, but this island did not disappoint. It is well-made, looks great, and was so simple to assemble.

We used a butcher block conditioner on it which brought out the beautiful wood grains and it looks like a much more expensive product.

I can see this island being used for years in this kitchen and in any other kitchen should we move.

Perfect and Useful Kitchen Island

Awesome!

The only problem we had was screwing in the bottom shelves. They are screwed in from underneath the shelves. We pre-drilled the holes, one had to hold the shelf, while the other one put the screws in. Tricky!
It looks fantastic, and is just right for our 7 x 9' kitchen.

Heavy, fits a small kitchen

Painted it

I don't know what I was expecting but I was extremely surprised at the weight of this island. It is sturdy, heavy and feels very solid. I stained/painted mine and the wood took the stain and paint extremely well. It's also a little larger than the photo depicts and is more rectangular than square. It's a perfect addition to my small kitchen. I am extremely pleased.

Unbelievably Sturdy

the holes for the pegs in the legs were drilled on the wrong side, we had to mark, measure, level and drill all new holes on the correct side of the legs.  this should not have happened.  The drawer was badly off track the we had to remove the drawer face to get to drawer and fix it. Bad engineering. Someone on the assembly line was careless and in a hurry.

product was flawed

I really wanted to like this. The good part: the butcher block top is really thick and seems sturdy. The bad parts: It is really hard to assemble, took a long time. We added casters so we could move it out of the way if needed. Notice the shelves are not visible - that's because they just keep falling off! The shelf pins (some pictured in 2nd photo) are just too small and flimsy for the weight of the shelves, let alone if anything is on them. The whole intent was to free up some counter space with the shelves, but the shelves aren't usable, so that's a wash. The sturdiness is questionable since the shelves kept falling off (finally just gave up). Tried to reach the manufacturer for a resolution and got no help. The so-called warranty does not cover this issue. So, I'm stuck with a really nice butcher block that I cannot effectively use, and feel like I wasted over $400. Buy something else.

Slatted shelves don't stay in place!

This island is everything I was looking for. With that being said, my husband assembled it & neither one of us noticed the split wood in 2 of the legs until we started to stain it. Huge disappointment. Called the company 3-21-14 & still no response. Was hoping to get replacement legs so as not to have to disassemble & return to store. Very heavy piece of furniture.

Give me new legs, its a 5 star in every catagory!
