We bought this salt water system to go on our 16x48 pool. It works great! Added the salt and stabilizer Shocked the water & was clear by the next day.  So much better than all the chlorine and chemicals. Will never have anything else. Except for maybe a sand filter to add to it :) Very impressed

Once you get the salt ppm adjusted to the recommended level and set the timer for the number of hours needed to run this item your pool will look crystal clear.
This a replacement for one I had for two yrs...replacing this outside warranty is cheaper and easier than buying all those chemicals, monitoring their levels and making applications to adjust levels.

This is a great product. It pays for itself the first year. This is our second one purchased. We purchased our other one 5 years ago and it finally went out last week. I have read the reviews that it only lasts a season or two, but that has not been the case for us, or the people we have recommended it to. You do have to store it as instructed otherwise you will ruin it. But it's not difficult. Even if it were an issue that it only lasted a year or two, you would spend the amount of this item in chemicals in just a month or so. Regardless, it is a great product and I won't have a pool without it. The salt water vs. chlorine makes a huge difference in clothes, skin, and hair.

Saltwater System

Very simple directions. Easy operation. Outstanding performance. You pay hundreds more for a comparable saltwater chlorinator. Very satisfied with this unit.

Best bang for your buck

I purchased this filter which is an add-on to the existing filter. It eliminates the use for chemicals to keep the pool clean.  Easy to hook up and maintain.

Salt Better than Chlorine

I loved this pump on the pool. The water felt great, no stinging or burning from chlorine.  My pool stated crystal clear all summer.

Why 3 stars you ask?
When We put away the pump in its original box and stored it the pump functioned perfectly.  However, this month when we went to set it up the GFI plug would not work.  Called Intex , no satisfaction.  I went to Walmart to buy a new one and the price was $50 more than last year for the same pump! 

So, even though the pump works great WHILE IT WORKS, it will be expensive if it breaks after just one season!

Great pump, BAD PLUG!

Worked, I guess, for a couple of days then the electronics went out.  Trying to resolve this with Intex is difficult as the company they use to handle claims is from over seas. 
Needless to say, it's very difficult to understand the person on the other line as they are in Asia somewhere.

Worked sorta for a few days

I have had three of these.  Replace one every year because they can not take the Texas heat.  Price beats a high end unit by far. They seem to last longer when only plugged in and ran at night in early morning hours.  Leave it unplugged when not in use.  Otherwise it still uses power and overheats the transformer.  This is my guess to what happens.  But I have better luck doing the above.

Index salt water generator

We are on our fourth Intex Saltwater system since April 2016. All four units have given a "Low Salt" error on the control panel. We have had our water tested, and the results were 6,000 - 4,800 - and 4,200 ppm. The range for a salt water pool is 2,500 - 3,500. 
The last Four units are displaying a "Low Salt" with these high readings.
Everytime we have called for warranty thru Intex, the first thing said is, "We will send a control unit". If your issue is the Titanium fin plate in the pump, it will cause the control unit to error. Intex support does not have a problem sending replacement parts, but rather than doing an entire unit, they prefer to send in pieces. This makes it difficult to trouble-shoot the issue.  We have had to drain the pool three times, 4,000 gallons each time, which can be costly every occurrence.  Shop around first, Intex last.

Serious Manufacturing Issues

I had use the product before, the filter is excellent, this time I went to get it, I open the box and  it was used and was broken, low quality service control from Walmart. If the item come new it is a very good option.
