This movie has an amazing ensemble of talented musical actors that bring Cinderella to life.  A must see ,  as to  get-this adaptation of the classic story back to the theater!!

Into the Woods is a musical that builds on different famous stories from Grimm's Fairy Tales.  The music by Stephen Sondheim is a masterpiece - there's  95% overlap 
in the music and lyrics and much of the dialog between the play and the movie.   If you like the DVD and get a chance to see the play performed by a  professional production company or even at a community theater I recommend that - the play has a lot more humor and a more in depth story line.  The DVD is a Disney production toned down slightly for kids.  The music is richly composed and has sharp harmonics at many times, pure musical genius - as close to perfection as you can get - okay lower your expectations to a simple musical theme so I don't over sell.  

I saw the play at the Kit Carson Park Amphitheater under the stars with a live orchestra by "Patio Playhouse" and that was my favorite, even over the original Broadway Production. 

The  "Witches Lament"  tells the full story of every parent in 1 minute of singing.


There are some adult themes I still think this is a great movie for kids.
