Smiling in Streetsville

Been in the automotive manufacturing business for 15 years. Tried a lot of different boots in my day. The Ashby is hands down the best boot you can buy for the money. I'm just now crossing the 3 year mark  and excited to buy another  pair soon!

I just bought my second pair. First pair lasted 2 years, and they are still definitely usable. After two years, I thought the aluminum toe was poking me, but it might have just been a piece of metal from work that got in there. I'm more than happy with these shoes. They're comfortable out of the box, and replacing the insoles periodically keeps them feeling great for me. I might get the first pair resoled eventually, but overall I'm glad I have two pairs now. I'll attach pictures to show the wear. I'm a CNC machinist, so the shoes have been in contact with water based coolant, stepping on steel and aluminum chips, etc. Besides that I've worn them on my motorcycle, the tip of one of the shoes is slightly damaged from being dragged on the asphalt after I hit a deer on that, but overall have held up great.

Comfortable out of the box

I've had these boots for about a year. After switching to these boots my feet no longer hurt. Over the last year my knees have started feeling better. I'm a welder so I'm on concrete all day. I will be purchasing  another pair of these soon to where out of work

Love these boots

Love the Ashby. I have 2 pairs, one for work and one for home. These boots are comfortable and reliable. I have had the home boots almost 4 yrs and will be needing to replace the soles soon but the leather is still in great shape. The flat sole is great for the long days walking on concrete and the leather is soft and durable.
Love the way they conform to the foot.
Would recommend to anybody looking for a boot with style and comfort.

Well built good quality boot

I love this boot. Great price, great comfort!! I use the Redwing insoles and for me they are even more comfortable! Like walking on Marshmallows or Peanut butter. However, I live in Wisconsin so I need to retire them over the winter months due to the soft soles getting hard and very slippery during the winter months. But when Spring arrives, I can't wait to bust them out again. So for that reason, I have other more pertinent boots for those cold winter months that are warm, and have good winter grip. Yes, depending on your career, these soles can wear fast. For me they are perfect because 50% of my work is driving to and from locations, and the other 50% is pure hard work. So in that sense, they are a great boot for me and I love them!! Will definitely either resole mine soon, and will buy a second pair to rotate them so as to not wear one pair out too fast.

Great work boot depending on your Career

I'm flat footed, with no arch at all. Finding shoes used to mean buying size 11 or 12 when I'm actually a size 10.5 just to get shoes wide enough to be comfortable. I bought these Ashby boots in the 10.5 size, EE width and they are a thing of pure joy. Why can't these be available in black?!?! I've owned these for three years now and I oil them twice a year at daylight savings time. Just oiled them today and they still look and feel great. Granted, I don't put my boots through hard work conditions, but the soles are perfect after three years. I placed an order last week for my first pair of Red Wing heritage boots. I hope the width is good, or I will be returning them for another pair of Irish Setters.

Great for flat feet

Just bought my third pair of these boots. I'm a mechanic and a welder. My boots are always getting wet because I have to wash equipment before I work on it. My first pair fell apart in a year but that was mostly my fault for not taking proper care of them(oiling). My second pair lasted twice as long and it was the sole that went. Leather still looks great. My only gripe is when you are running the cutting tourch or plasma, molten metal always finds its way right to the threads on the top of the toe cap. If you don't take precautions you can potentially destroy your boot.

I found my perfect boot.

First of all I have to say that these boots are really comfortable, I have worn a few different types of boots in the past these seem to be the most comfortable and quickest to break in. I work for a machinery moving and rigging company, I'm always on my feet for always on my feet too up to 14hrs a day. I work hard and expect my boots to hold up just like I do I work hard and expect my boots to hold up just like I do . For the most part they do , but right around month 4 the sole starts to fall apart and the leather starts get loose around the toe. I love these boots just wish I wasn't buying a pair every quarter..

Good construction but wears fast

These are terrible boots, I was sized by the machine at the store and got insoles as well.  They dig into my little toes on both feet, and my toe is bleeding.
