The bar of soap has changed - the name IVORY is only on one side and it looks to be added to (not one whole mold of soap), there's a line, like a seam around the bar.

Trash. They've reformulated. I used Ivory for YEARS. A few years ago I made the switch to unscented  liquid soap. Recently got sick of constantly refilling the pump bottle so just grabbed this 10 pack of Ivory. I knew something was off the moment I tore the paper off a bar... it REEKS like citronella. There is no citronella in the ingredients so I'm not sure how they made it stink so badly. "Original Scent", more like "Mosquito Repellant". The soap is incredibly drying, one use and my nails looked chalky, they were so dried out. I have eczema so I literally can't use this soap. Open bar went in the trash and donating the rest. Awful, awful, awful.

For two years now, I've been struggling to find my large bars of ivory soap? Today I googled and found that I did not learn the basic lesson that new Coke learned.
Somebody got a big promotion over this change and I'm sorry. Good luck. Tell us fellow Americans when you're changing the product and offer both.

Just opened my new package of original ivory bar soap. It's not original. It's smooth and shiny and smells different. And it doesn't float anymore. Been using ivory soap for decades. Why would you change something for no reason? If something is more than 99% pure and millions of people use it, leave it alone. Remember when Coca-Cola changed their recipe? We all know what happened with that.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Ivory has changed its 99 percent pure formula. It's not on the label any more however they are still  claiming that they have 140 years of trusted product. It's definitely not the same product that built that reputation. It always used to rinse clean. Now I can't get the soap film off my body. I don't trust it anymore therefore I won't be using it again. Back to pure glycerin for me

Ivory Soap

Does not lather like the original formula.  Smells different than the original formula.  You screwed up.  If the change was to cut costs, you could have increased the price.  If it was because it was a small percentage of sales, you should have advertised more.  Claiming that this product goes back generations is false; it's not the same stuff.  Bad move, and I will no longer buy it.

Ruined what was once good

I knew something had changed with the Ivory soap. It doesn't lather as well and doesn't rinse off the body easily either. In the past year I've been getting allergic type reactions from it, so I've had to switch to my expensive Clinique bar of face soap. Thank god for that! We also noticed in the past year that our shower drain keeps clogging. We had to remove the drain plug, as it was getting gummed up with solid white residue. We're constantly having to put liquid Draino down the drain and follow with kettle fulls of boiled water so it pushes everything down. Like most everyone is saying, we'll be searching for a new brand of soap. After 50+ years it's unbelievable they'd mess with a good thing. Good luck P&G. You're losing customers. I don't think there's enough vegans in the world to keep you afloat now.

What Have They Done?

I am 46 years old and I have been using Ivory pretty much all of my life. Why did you change the formula? Why did you do it without warning your loyal customers? This new formula made my skin break out in rashes. I have had to discontinue use because of this. Please bring back the old soap and call that “original”. This one needs to be names something else.

I should have read these review, before purchasing this non-original soap!!!! I just purhcase 10 bars of this useless soap. How many corner did you cut to make this crap? How much are you saving on the cost? just to sell it to us at a high price? and to lie to us about it being original? You people stated that you have been in business for over 140 years have you learned anything? If nothing was wrong with the original, you leave it alone. The only real reason you would change it, is to make it cheaper and sell at a high cost. It's the american way to make it cheap and sell high. This is proof!!!! Now, I can understand if, it's still the same and the cost went up... But to lie and say it the original!, knowing it's not!!, just to make a sell. Well that's down right fraud, there should be a class action sute.... Good luck with your cheap crappy soap...... 140 year down the drain...you people can not be trusted..

CHANGE THE NAME NOT ORIGINAL... NOT EVEN CLOSE..

I've been using Ivory since the 1960s. I had a huge supply of the old Ivory on the shelf due to my love for it and worries it would be unavailable when covid hit. Just ran low and bought some of the new Ivory. The new vegan formulation Ivory bars are garbage. They crack within a few uses and do not clean as well as the old formulation. Great work Ivory...you ruined your soap!
