Bass from this jbl speaker is really good when the volume is low medium, but very loud with almost no bass. I charge the thing at least less than a week.

I got the boombox 3 just over a week ago and all I can say is WOW! This speaker is amazing for its size, it is alittle bit and heavy but nobody should be complaining considering the sound it puts out. Its literally a portable concert! I own the Boombox 2 also which is still a great speaker. But in my opinion the 3 is better. The bass is very deep and the mids and highs a crystal clear. It gets very loud with no distortion. I also own a partybox 200 and the boombox 3 sounds better with more bass. If you decide to purchase a boombox 3 you will not be disappointed! Remeber, you only live once. Just go for it!

The sound quality is great, even when you turn the volume up to the top. This speaker can get very loud especially for a speaker of this size. This speaker is perfect for any situation. Great for parties, whether that party is a casual barbecue or a bumping pool party. The fact it is waterproof allows you to relax when around water. This speaker is portable so it is very convenient to bring anywhere without having to be plugged in. The battery life lasts a long time as well which means you can use it all day long. It is perfect for playing loud music during workouts as well. This speaker is my new favorite speaker.

Great Speaker - Incredible Sound and Battery Life!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall totally love this speaker and I look forward to using it in large groups or at the beach in the future. While I knew this speaker was large it is definitely heavier than I anticipated. The large handle on the top is nice for easy carrying but as a petite female I definitely feel like I'm lugging something around. The sound quality is so clear and the base is good; it does not disappoint! It's the high quality sound you know and love and expect from JBL. To me, a small draw back is that there is no sound coming from the back of the speaker. Since it is so large it would be great if there was sound coming from all sides so it could be the center of large gatherings. But I also acknowledge that it's common with large speakers to only have sound coming from one side. On that note, the partyboost feature where you can daisy chain is a great option to connect to other speakers. I did try it out and connect the Boombox3 to my JBL Xtreame3 and loved that I could put each speaker in a different room. However, it did seem like the quality of sound was slightly decreased when using this feature so there is some give and take there. I also love that you can use it to charge other devices like your phone and the battery life is amazing on this speaker!! In conclusion, love the speaker, sound quality, and battery life. But be warned it is a little heavy and you may lose a little sound quality when using partyboost.

Lots of great qualities and only a few drawbacks

The sound quality is a definite improvement over an already good speaker. The addition of the midrange speakers add a definite depth of field. The only downside is the battery. They apparently used the same battery as the Boombox 2 because I get 25% more life out of a 2.5 year old Boombox 2 battery than a new one
