My daughter wanted to make bath bombs with Epson salt and essential oils and the citric acid is also mixed in. When you place in bath tub it causes the bath bomb to fizz. She is very happy with the results.

My pool was brown from my well water and a lot of rain.  we had the water checked and was talked into buy 50 lbs of soda ash.  $48.00 for nothing.  Then I read on line about some one with the same problem.  We bought the citric acid added 2 lbs to the pool,  and in a few hours my pool water and the liner was crystal clear.  will always keep this on hand.

I read about using citric acid as a rust remover but because the other rust removers are caustic and more difficult to use, I thought I would give it a try. I put a lot of rusty nails in a glass jar, added three tablespoons of citric acid, hot water, and closed the lid. Shook the bottle and waited to see what happens. Left it for about three days because I didn't really need the nails but wanted to see the results. ALL rust was gone! Now it is my number rust cleaner. You never are too old to learn.

Great product to remove rust

This is great for use in making your own homemade cleaning products, or use straight for cleaning your dishwasher or coffee maker. This can also be used to prevent foods (like apples or avocados) from browning it is a preservative. It can add a sour taste to any food or drink. I find it very useful around the house and I buy it in bulk like this, either in 1 pound or even 5 pound bags. Be sure to store it away from dampness or it will get clumpy. It will still be useable, but harder to work with.

Bought to make "toilet freshener bombs".  Works well and will also be used in canning.

I purchased this to use in my dishwasher.  I have rusty water and citric acid in each load really helps cuts down the spots, makes the dishes cleaner and keeps the dishwasher clean too.  This particular item left a a powder feel to all my dishes and glasses.  Had to rewash.  Maybe I need to use less but won't try again now.  The texture is more grainy like salt the other brands I have used are more powdery.

Maybe it would be good for other uses, but for the dishwasher it didn't work for me.  I have been using citric acid in my dish washer and washing machine to clean it for almost 2 years and have tried a number of different brands this being the least effective for me.
