This machine is very easy to use. It comes with everything you need to make your project. I pulled it out of the box and started to sew and I have never use a machine that is so easy to use.  I have had other machines that it takes month to learn to use them, and there is always something that is not quite right with my projects in the end. This machine comes with a needle threader, drop in bobbin, and a collection of presser feet to help you get your job done in a jiffy. Love Janome machines, I've been using them for two years now, and they are great. They come ready and you don't need to buy accessories seperatly in order to use the machine.

Best sewing machine ever!!

I have had my old sewing machine since my high school graduation 50 years ago, and I decided to check out the current models for some hobby projects I was working on.  I went to three sewing shops and found many different brands and was given short demos at each of the stores.  I believed the Janome machines were the best for my needs and while searching online I found the best deal for me at Walmart.com.  It was easy to learn how to wind a bobbin, automatically thread the needle, and the automatic sewing feature that does not require a foot pedal.  I have the option of 99 decorative stitches and an automatic button hole presser foot as well as other accessories.

This full-featured machine is just what I needed!

This Janome is an excellent machine for the price.  The extension table and hard cover are definitely a plus.  This machine sews a perfectly balanced stitch.  The 1/4" foot and dual feed foot are perfect for any quilting project!  This is my third Janome machine, and it lives up to the Janome reputation. This machine was purchased for my daughter who has experience with quilting and has sewn on all of my machines.  She is very pleased with this machine.

Excellent little Janome sewing machine.

This is a great little machine.  I have had and still use a Janome 6500, but it is a large, heavy machine that is difficult to transport to classes, sewing bees, etc.  This one fits the bill.  small and light enough to transport easily, but strong enough to easily sew through multiple layers.  I appreciate the built in needle threader, drop in bobbin, and the ability to drop the feed dogs.  The only thing I miss is a thread cutter, but for the price and ease of use, it 's still a good deal.

Good sturdy machine

I purchased and returned a computerized brother and Janome machine before settling on this model. It's the first time that I tried the Janome brand. It's sturdy, quiet, and has a very good stitch quality. It also comes with an extension table and many accessories! I was able to set it so that it always stops with a needle in the down position. I haven't figured out how to turn off the beeping sound yet, but there's probably a way. It has a high and wide area to the right of the needle, which allows a lot of space for quilted or bulky projects. The only thing missing is an automatic thread cutter.

Love It!

Janome machines are known as steady, hardworking machines and this one is a workhorse.  I have another that is bigger with a lot of bells and whistles  but needed a machine lighter to take to sewing classes.   Totally fits the bill but still solid, smooth sewing and lighter to transport.
Ease to use out of the box with a great instruction manual if you're a beginner or a seasoned sewer.  I would totally recommend this machine for any level if you want performance.

I will only own a Janome.

I love this machine, it has so many nice features and attachments and Walmart delivered sooner that was originally promised.

Make sure to check the parts included. Mine is missing a 1 large pc of the Spool holder. Great sewing machine, awesome for beginners.

A good machine, however the description was misleading.  It says it comes with an "Assorted Needle Set", which means a variety of needles.  In fact, it only comes with four 14/90 needles, one of them mounted on the machine.  "7-Piece Feed Dog System" suggests that the 7 pieces can move independently, offering differential feed at a minimum.  In fact, the 7 are just sections of the same piece of metal which stick out through the needle plate in 7 places.  The manual does not provide any information on the majority of stitches, and does not even explain what the letters "L", "M", "R", and "P" mean, or what the bidirectional arrows and other symbols mean.  The stitch pattern card could easily have been printed on the machine, in larger size, saving the expense of two additional parts which often get in the way when sewing or when replacing the dust cover.  I also felt that there could have been more functional stitches instead of some of the decorative stitches.

Misleading description, incomplete documentation

Customers need to know that this Janome sewing machine JW8100 is not released in Canada and can only be warranted in the USA.  It come with English and Spanish on the box.  I paid 700.32 for machine and taxes and 5.99 shipment and was refunded only 600.40 as for above reason I returned it and have no explanation why they kept 99.92 of my money.
