About what I expected. Part of the base was broke off. As long as it holds water, it's fine.

First of all, the plastic rain gauge arrived broken. It has a large v shape crack in bottom of plastic tube cylinder. 

Second, Reason for one star is the plastic tube cylinder appears inaccurate. This cylinder has the same circumference of my current broken Acurite 8 inch rain gauge. The height is a about 2 inches shorter. This large round tube cylinder shows it only measures up to 1.5 inches or 40 millimeters. (With crack not able to determine actual measurements). You can tell by looking at cylinder it holds more than 1.5 inches rain. The only details online and packaging regarding this gauge is the stake measures 36 inches. 

Finally, I thought I would like the stake, but in a strong Texas thunderstorm the winds would probably blow this stake and rain gauge over.  

If you live in area prone to heavy downpours, you may want a rain gauge that measures more than 4 inches during one storm and something sturdy to withstand strong thunderstorm winds. Most important, if you want accuracy, I am not sure this is the correct rain gauge to purchase. Now, I am going back to my acurite gauge or better American Weather.com made product
