This edge grain walnut wood countertop is constructed with full length exterior rails and random finger-jointed interior rails, creating unique color variations throughout the countertop. Additionally, the virtually maintenance-free semi-gloss Varnique finish perfectly complements the beautiful wood. With the smooth countertop, you can simply enjoy typical food prep and wipe clean with soap and water whenever you deem necessary. No regular oiling necessary. 

While the Varnique finish is food-safe and protective of the countertop, it is not intended to be used as a cutting board surface. Cuts in the Varnique finish should be sealed immediately to prevent exposed wood from absorbing moisture. If you would prefer a countertop you can directly cut on, opt for one of the John Boos countertops with penetrating oil finish.
