please do not discontinue this product! i have the world's worst hair. it is thin flat and there just isn't a whole lot there. i have bought and returned or thrown out over thirty or so styling products over the years-this is the only thing that makes my hair look fuller (in combination with a thickening spray). please, my thin haired sisters-try this product. you only need a tiny bit to achieve volume. it's a bit drying, but it really rinses out easily and leaves your hair virgin the next day. try it-if it sells well they won't get rid of it!

I love love love this product. The #7 is also great but this 9 is WOW also. I have fine, thinning hair, and these products bring new life to my hair w/ extra volume and staying power all week. I use root concealer to cover thinning areas as well. Best products I have ever used for volume. Highly recommend for fine hair. This site states it is best for fine hair but says all hair types work well.

I Love Joico products that's all I use. And I love this power whip. It gives you volume and wonderful fullness without weighing it down, I have thick hair, and this gives me a VAVOOM! you don't need a lot, just a small amount , put it thru your hair and blow dry. Loveeee it.

The 7s pump stop working on a full bottle. If that didn't  happen  I would still be using it because I liked it, back to the store. Now home with a 9, didn't  know there was different  holds until now because  the bottle looks the same except  for the number on them. I will let you know about the 9 once trying it....

I've loved Joico Power Whip and have used it for years. Unfortunately the new formula is terrible, not a creamy foam anymore. It quickly turns to a sticky oily mess. I will be looking for something in another brand. Why mess with success?

Why Change?

The formula for Power Whip 9 was changed in 2024.  It no longer has a lovely citrus scent.  I really hate the new scent.  It also no longer has a creamy foam consistency.  After squirting it in your hands, the minimal foam immediately collapses into basically water.  I used to love this product but will no longer buy it.  Too bad they decided to fix what wasn't broken.

Power Whip New Formula is Terrible

Second time buying with problem ,terrible quality control. Watery and bubbly disappears in hand.
Will return again!

Poor quality

I love the 7, I don't get a headache from the smell.  However, this 9 scent is terrible! 
I had to wash my hair twice to get rid of it! 
Glad I prepared for quarantine by getting two that I can't use.  
The 7 smells so nice! Why did you change it so drastically with a firmer hold?!

Is this the replacement for the old Ice Whip? It was the best mouse I have ever found that did not make my hair sticky. It was so lightweight and kept my naturally curly hair at bay without making it look like I had mousse in it. If so, why did Joico change it? Probably did it like every other company, replace the ingredients with low cost budget ingredients. I suspect this is what happened here. I'd give a 0 star if that were a choice. Don't buy.
