I have been using K&N from about 1975. Started out on motorcycles then my autos as product became available. So far every vehicle I have owned has had K&N installed.  Qhen I bought my 2014 SHO, I found the cold air kit. Definitely a seat of the pants improvement.  I have been able to convince most of my friends to install the filter in whatever form in their vehicles.

I have had this intake for about 6 months on my FPIS with the 3.5 Ecoboost and I can confidently recommend it to anybody considering purchasing it. It sounds incredible and does help with fuel milage. The performance increase isnt massive but if you floor it frequently you'll notice a slight change in throttle response and acceleration like I did. Easy install, simple instructions and well built.

6 Months Later

Ordered the kit to install on my 2013 Lincoln MKS ECO-BOOST 3.5 liter AWD since the Taurus SHO and MKS have same engine compartment. Install was a breeze, everything fit well and went together easily. Now 500 miles since install and seeing a consistent increase of 1 mpg at 75mph cruise between Tampa and Orlando. (25.5 mpg now vs 24.4 mpg previously using on board trip computer) K&N should update their application guide to show this. At this rate it will pay for itself in about a year. Throttle response is noticeably better at higher speeds (60mph+)

Had the local Ford dealer install on my 2014 Taurns Sho so I can't attest to the ease of instalation. It took them just over an hour.

What I can speak to is the performance. I have noticed a huge reduction in the acceleration lag and an increase in mileage. The only concern was the hissing noise when the turbos kick in. Found out no need to worry with the new intake the blow off valve has to do its job. Turns out the old one was too resttictive.

Purchased for a 2016 Taurus SHO. This kit shipped out quick and arrived a day before it was scheduled.  Installation seems easy and the kit includes a step by step instruction sheet (with pictures) that guide you through the process. Customer service is top notch as well.

Upgrading the daily

Works very well on my 2013 SHO. Improved gas mileage,performance is very noticeable.  Runs stronger. Starts like lighting...If you don't own it I'll meet you on the street ..good LUCK ..say hello to my taillights !!!!

It just sounds absolutely incredible. Thats the bottom line, it sounds amazing. Other then that the mpg has been an appreciated change and I am generally really happy with it. I would recommend this to anybody considering purchasing one.
