[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was really unsure about how this would work. Happily it did work.
It fit standard KitchenAid Classic stand mixer model K45WS. I use it for mixing cookie dough as well as bread dough though it does need folding with a spatula every few seconds at final mixing such as adding raisins or other soft dried fruit or nuts for an even mix. 
The top disc keeps bread dough from jumping out of the bowl for running the machine as fast as I do. 
It's takes lot of work off my hands and does a better job than I.

I'm not certain this is manufactured by KitchenAid.  The shape of the hook is different than the original, and the hook is more slender as well.  But I used it on a batch of bread dough and worked as well as the original.  I replaced it because the original dough hook's coating started to chip and flake.  (Incidentally, I went with the second choice for shipper offered by Walmart and they were superb - Seneca River Trading.  Super fast response and delivery and excellent communication.  I'm glad I looked around.)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Item did not fit the 4.5 KitchenAide mixer, as it was advertised it would.  It's too small, not long enough to reach the dough and knead properly.
