I ordered the hinge after emailing Kohler Support and I'm glad I did. The price was fair the package arrive in a timely manner. After reading the simple instructions it took me about ten minutes to install the hinge and replace the hinge. It works perfectly. I wish the rest of the world could do as well.

Recently I purchased two of these in different colors, Mexican Sand and Tea Green.  I was so happy to see there was an easy fix for the broken ones I had!  Colors matched the seats perfect and installation was super-easy.  Easy to follow instructions came with them.  Thank you Kohler for continuing to manufacture these!!

Replacement soft close hinge kit.

The best toilet seat hinge in the history of toilet seat hinges! My old toilet seat used to just close gently and quietly until it eventually wore out after about twelve years, so I had to replace it. Now with the new hinge, it closes in super slow motion. I can go for a walk around and come back a minute later and it's still on its way down, but it gets there eventually!

It functions as expected.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a month ago and am happy I did. Installation was easy and the seat now closes as it should. I'm not sure why some customers have had the new hinge come loose - ours is still working just fine. Just make sure you have the correct model number of your seat.so that it matches the hinge.

Easy fix

It was nice to find that just this part could be purchased instead of replacing the entire toilet seat. The reason I gave it an average rating is that it should not have broken in the first place or at least have lasted much longer. Perhaps most people do not remove the seat so often, but my wife removes these once a week when she cleans. So the tines that hold this in place get a lot of opening and closing. Perhaps they could be made of a more durable material for a few $ more.

bought to replace hinge on existing soft-close seat. fairly easy to install (if you have needle-nose pliers). stopped working within 24 hours.  read other reviews advising that hinges tend to pop out so I attempted to fix, but one hinge would not pop back into place and the toilet cover would not fasten back securely.  within 2 days, the back hinge of the toilet seat was cracked and now I've had to order a completely new toilet seat.  seems like a fairly straightforward fix, but Kohler needs to improve its execution and quality.

don't waste your time - doesn't work

I've had to reinstall the hinge three times now because part of the hinge retracts that supports the seat. That leads the seat to fall. Not sure why KohlerCustServ doesn't redesign this hinge since so many have experienced the same problem. I'd like a new seat with hinge since the original seat and hinge lasted a few years, and the hinge replacement lasts maybe two weeks.
