After trying a few o-rings in my kitchen sink strainer, I contacted Kohler customer support who gave me the correct part number.  Since installing the o-ring, the sink has not let out any water when the strainer is in the closed position.  Perfect!

Strainer basket stopper O-ring

Our power is out a lot here in the NC mountains. The power transition is almost seemless.

Very Satisfied

I bought these o-rings to replace the o-rings in a kohler sink drain/strainer, they work, what would get them a totoal 5 is if they were bigger round in diameter (o-ring thickness), so I bought 3 cheap enough to have spares, having said that, the replacements do not last as long as the original did.

This is the O-Ring for a Kohler kitchen sink basket strainer (K-8801-CP).  I think it's the nicest strainer on the market, but the O-rings do not last.  They expand, fall out of the groove, and need to be replaced.  I order 8 - 10 at a time.  I have stopped pouring boiling hot water into the sink, as this may have been the cause.  O-rings work fine when they are new.  Thank you.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I ordered 4 rubber strainer gaskets for 2 kitchen sinks. Of the 4 only 1 would stay on the strainer very well. In other words they were slightly too large, not fitting tightly and easily came off.  I've ordered 4 more. Hopefully they will fit more snuggly.

I always try to go with Kohler since I think they make good products. I had just installed a Kohler Santa Rosa toilet and am very happy with it. But, I am a little disappointed with the O-rings lately on my Kohler sink drain. I had the Kohler sink drain and strainer installed in 2012 with my kitchen remodel, and never had a problem with the sink holding the water. Then, as the years went by, I noticed that the O-rings, which hold the water, would slowly start to get larger and loose and stopped holding the water. It would eventually fall off. So I always contacted Kohler and gave them the part number, which is 48694, and they would mail me out one or two new ones. But lately, I keep going through one O-ring within a week to 10 days and they seem to fall off. I don't know if it's me doing something wrong, but nothing has changed. I always take the strainer out when pouring boiling water down the drain. But that doesn't seen to make a difference anymore.  Actually I spoke to a nice person name Daisy at Kohler last week and mentioned that I purchased three O-Rings directly from Kohler last month and also have been buying them from Amazon, which comes in the exact same Kohler plastic bag. And I just notice that she mailed me out three of them, which I really appreciate. So I don't understand this. The only things I can think of is maybe the O-rings are starting to get old, and just are losing their ability to stay pliable, like they used to. I hate to keep bothering Kohler to sent me out the O-rings so I have been purchasing them directly on Kohler's webpage or through Amazon. In any case, I really appreciate Kohler always supporting my sink drain and sending me out the O-rings when I request them. The quality of this drain is the best I have seen. I was just at my daughter's house yesterday for thanks giving, and her strainer was made very check and never held the water in her sink. I don't want to mention her brand, but like I said, my Kohler one is made very well. Thank you very much for always supporting me..

O-ring does not stay on.

The o ring falls off the strainer, it does seal most of the time.very disappointed in this Koehler product. Cost versa durability makes this product less than satisfactory.

This o ring is smaller in thickness and larger in diameter
