We frequently have guests over and didn't want them to accidentally open the closet and see all the mess. This is perfect since it was small enough and looked very sleek. Installation was easy and straightforward. It seems very durable and will last a long time. Very happy with this lock.

Looks sleek and very functional

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We recently built a barn-door to close off our basement stairway, but with grand-babies we did not want them to be able to open the door which meant we had to find just the right lock. Our door is set up similar to a pocket door and needed a pocket door lock set. After searching we found the Kwikset round design door lock and it was the fit we needed. We have had the lock in place for a few months now. This lock fits up to 1 3/8 inch to 1 ¾ inch thick doors. The lock set can be used on both left and right-handed doors. It can be used on a pre-drilled door with an opening of 2 1/8 inches. The installation was quick, and it only requires a screwdriver. The locking knob is inset so there is no issue when closing or opening the door. The only thing I did not like is it's a little hard to turn the knob but doable. It works great on our door and no more worries about the door being opened by the little ones. The finish is a satin nickel. I would buy this lock set again.

Easy to install

You simply put it in where the whole already is without having to cut a new hole.  It's of great quality. It has a beautiful finish to it. It opens and closes with ease.

Great for the family security!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are installing a few pocket doors in our home and this lock is just what we needed. This is very easy to install and works great. The satin chrome finish matches our other knobs we have throughout.

Door Lock

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This lock was easy to install.  It did not look as high quality as the picture and it was more squared off vs round.  Also it was slightly shinny and did not match my existing brushed silver hardware.  However, it was very easy to install and use.  Overall it is average for the value.

Easy to Install

I've now installed a 2nd one on the same door because the plunger in the first one warped and got stuck in the locked position.

The door plates have to be left slightly loose or the handle becomes so stiff you can't get the plunger to move in or out. Next, if there is ANY play in the door at all (which there is because it's a pocket door!) the plunger will not line up and when it does it gets stuck in the locked position when the door is closed.

Looking for a suitable alternative.

Garbage

Our builder put five of these in on bathroom pocket doors, and children have become locked in with two of them, and we had to force the doors open. In doing so there is now a "tit" of metal that will not retract therefore the door latch is un-usable. The latch seems to be permanently "out" and even taking the latch off from the door I've found no way to release or reset this.  I am afraid to allow guests to lock the bathroom doors at this point out of fear they will get locked in.  PLEASE advise me on what to do to 1) release the two locks that are not functioning, and 2) prevent this from occurring again!  I love the look of these pocket door latches but can't afford for my grandchildren to get locked in the room.

Help!  Children becoming locked in rooms!

I have used this for a few years, but the lock is now getting stuck in the locked position.  I can't risk having my young children be locked in their bathroom, so I will be looking to replace this lock with one from another manufacturer.  It functioned great for a couple years, but the durability just isn't there.  I suppose you get what you pay for!
