I use mine in an XL big green egg.
On a long cook I like to be able to see and access the fire.
I leave half the grate off with a heat deflector under the grate that the food is on.
I also use my “ slow n sear”  drip pan from my Weber kettle under the grate. It sits on top of the heat deflector.

Mix and match parts to suit your needs.

This product is great. Very shiny and be careful, it gets hot when you use it on the grill. If it was cooler it would be easier to handle. Also, it won't work on my stove and wish it would. Then it would be really versatile.

This works great on so many levels. Wellness of food, time to cook meat and veggies, it is quality, and easy to use. Every time we grill it is delicious.

This makes the Kamado Joe so versatile, allowing so many different types of cooks, and paired with the x accessory rack, lets you put the deflector plate higher for more even indirect heat with lower chance of burning the bottom of your food.

Must have accessory

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm cooking a Picanha right now using the Divide and Conquer Cooking Rack.  Coals are on the low side for direct heat, half stone is on the high side for indirect heat.  Cooking on the indirect side now, moving to the direct side to sear both sides after achieving an internal temp of 130.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pretty much is a must have if you have a Kamado Joe or kamado style grill.  I can sear a steak straight over the coals on the lower level while simultaneously roasting veggies on the top level when using a half moon ceramic deflector underneath.  The cooking combinations are endless when using this during your grilling.  A must have in your grilling arsenal

Versatile Cooking Options

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This came with my Classic Joe II, but I cannot imagine using the Kamado without it. This adds onto the usage of the grill especially when utilizing hot and cold sides of the grill and the Sloroller.

Useful Accessory

I'm still learning more about how to make the most out of this extremely versatile accessory - you can literally get nearly 50 degrees of separation with this kit. Amazing!

Temperature control in the same grill

I bought this product thinking it came with the grate which is the part I needed to begin with and now I have a rack with no grate so I can't use it. I understand that with the Covid issues it may take time to get the grate but with the picture of the product I ordered it appeared that it came with it. Wish someone would let me know

Incomplete order

I bought this last week expecting the rack and the 2 grates as shown. I was surprised to find the rack and no grates included. I reviewed the ad and detailed information and could not find the statement “grates are NOT INCLUDED “.
Another reviewer already posted an identical complaint and clearly nothing was done to correct the misleading product ad. Careless and misleading advertising and no display of good faith when previously alerted to the problem. We will NEVER purchase from this company again.
