I used my iKamand for the first time over the weekend and I was extremely pleased with the control. My temp only fluctuated by 5 degrees at any point in time. I watched a few You Tube videos on others who have purchased earlier versions and followed some of the advice provided as well. One recommendation is to get your grill preheated to within 50 degrees before turning on your iKamand, this was a great tip & it worked Great. I love this product!

Excellent Temp Control

The installation was easy and quick.  I have a great Wifi signal to my back yard.  I had no issues connecting my unit to my home's Wifi.  I made my first smoke with a pork butt.  While my pork was smoking, I went about my day and ran a few errands.  I was able to monitor my smoke at various times and did not have any connection issues.  There may have been only a small 10-15 second lag when starting up the app to getting actual cooking information while I was away.  I was surprised by how well the fan was controlled throughout my cook to maintain the temperature in the grill.  Unfortunately, I did not use enough lump charcoal and well, I hit a lull when I had to add more.
I love the feature of turning the fan full on for 10 minutes.  It allows for stoking the fire quickly and getting back to action right away.  Definitely looking forward to more successful cooking events.

Great product for an ease of mind!

I used the Ikamand during my last brisket cook on the Kamado Joe Big III.  It was simple to setup and provided great temperature control.  The brisket was was so delicious and I could not have been happier.  This is a great product, basically set it and forget it.

Ikamand

i've had friends that would start their cook and let it go all night. That's always mind me nervous...I've tried it, setting an alarm, just to check. I don't have to do that anymore! Right out of the box, I set up the iKamand quickly and jumped right in. I started in the afternoon, set the temp to 230 for a slow smoke. I did wake to check the temp (in bed on my phone!) and it was holding steady. The next morning there were no surprises. Perfect cook! This is a game changer, I can't mess this up!

I slept through the cook. Perfect!

This was a father's day present.  Downloaded the software update and it worked great for my first cook, but it has not worked the last three cooks.  For some reason, about 1.5 hours into a cook, it loses connectivity and will only re-establish it intermittently so I have to go back to my old fashioned way of monitoring the cook temp remotely and adjusting the temp as necessary.  I have spent about 2 hours now troubleshooting.  This seems to be an ongoing problem although the reviews seemed to indicate that it had been resolved - NOT.  Very annoying.

Worked Great The First Time But Then Quit

Theres been a lot of bad reviews about this item and I now believe them. I was excited to use this with my Kamado Joe but this ikamand never worked from the start.  Would never power on and the unit itself became hot. I tried the troubleshooting suggestions but none of them worked. Returned the same day I received it. Avoid this.

Hooked up and configured wifi and app no problems.  Unit worked for about an hour on first cook.  Had I not checked and seen the pit temperature was 50+ degrees below set point would not have known that the unit had stopped working.  App/unit should have a periodic 'heartbeat' check with an alert while in operation to verify that it is working correctly and/or has not lost power.

Failed within 1 hour on initial use

Tried this a couple of times and it is not working as advertised. Will give it another shot but I am not hopeful.

Not as good as advertised

Very difficult and confusing too get set up and connected to the Wi-Fi.  Still can not get it to work

IKamand, I can not get it to work

It was not easy to install. You have to to the lower vent off and the nuts for the screws are hard to get to unless you take the whole insides out.
