I ordered the **Kaytee Run-About Ball for Dwarf Hamsters, Mice and Other Small Animals, Clear 5 Inches** from Walmart, and it's been an absolute hit—definitely deserves 5 stars all around!  **Overall Satisfaction: 5 stars**   **Quality: 5 stars**   **Price: 5 stars**  This mini 5-inch clear ball is perfectly sized for my little dwarf hamster—he zips around the room with ease, exploring every corner while staying completely safe. The clear plastic lets me watch him the whole time, and it's hilarious seeing him bump into furniture and change directions like a tiny race car driver. Plenty of ventilation slots keep the air flowing, so no worries about overheating during his 15-20 minute play sessions.  It's super sturdy, easy to open and close securely for putting him in/out, and doubles as a great temporary spot when I'm cleaning his cage.

A perfect hamster Xmas gift...

I wouldn't recommend this item only because it says it can fit a hamster, we have a hamster and not only was this item to small but it doesn't roll either, to many flat spots on it.

Wow, my hamster just died because of this ball.  I had a perfectly healthy hamster and I put it in this ball and, when my son put her back in the cage, she didn't want to come out.  The next morning, when I fed her, I touched her lightly because she was above the shavings.  She kind of jumped and went on her back.  We took her out and realized she was dying.  She couldn't move.  I think she injured her spine when she was in the ball.  
I looked it up and balls can cause injuries, especially smaller diameter ones. Because hamsters arch their back, they are more prone to injury in smaller balls.  According to the article, it's also really stressful for a hamster to not be able to hide.  I guess the stress can be too much, too.  I'm guessing it was her spine though, because of her lack of movement.
 I would suggest getting something else for exercise, like tunnels.  Tunnels similar to their environment and provide a place to hide.  I love zoos and am not one of those people that think no animals should be in unnatural environments (just really nice ones).
