This is one of the top-rated upright vacuums by Consumer Reports. It's priced well and does a great job on carpets and bare floors. If you are considering a Shark or Dyson, you should consider this one too.

I really liked this so far. It was easy to put together. No place to store the extensions on the vacuum itself (only one extension) so get a box ready. Lastly, I couldnt figure out how to release the handle so it wouldn't be at a 90 degree angle. But I just played with all the buttons and eventually figured it out. I chose it because it was in the top of the consumer reports list and on the cheaper side.

Wow, this vacuum is so much better than any I have ever owned. Be ready to be grossed out by the amount of dirt it sucks it out of the carpet left by lessor vacs. I was shocked and my carpets are regularly vacuumed. I can see why Consumer reports has this at top of ratings. I can only report on how it does on low carpet and it is ridiculously good. Only downside as sucks so hard it is a bit harder to use/pull  than cheap vacs but Ill take it. Never had a $500 vac but think this is whats like for a fraction of cost!

Amazing vacuum for thorough cleaning

I had a Shark prior which was good, but man this Kenmore out does it. Easy to use, kinda feels like it has self driven mode when doing the carpets. Pet brush works great as we have a dog and cat and there is always some hair on something. Would highly recommend.

I've had this vacuum now for about 2 months. Previously, we had one of those very cheap little vacuums, but having moved to a apartment that was now mostly carpet, it wasn't really cutting it. After doing some research and checking out the Consumer Reports rating I decided on this one (the cute mint color was just an added bonus). I have been extremely happy with this vacuum so far. It has great suction and leaves those satisfying vacuum lines in your carpet, to the point that it can be an arm workout moving it back and forth. We were amazed at how it turned our dull, cheap apartment carpets that had become flat and old looking after living here for 6 months into fresh fluffy carpets that look better then when we moved in. I've enjoyed the different configurations allowing me to vacuum our furniture and it's super easy to empty the canister when it gets full. The only worry I have with the vacuum is that sometimes after I've been using it for a while, it will have a small burnt motor type of smell - but it goes away when you turn it off and hasn't affected it's functionality so far.

Made cheap apartment carpets look fresh and new!

My like and dislikes about this vacuum is as follows: Liked the easy set up, that it's lightweight, easy to maneuver, has a suction control for draperies, etc., easy to disconnect the container to empty, and easy to store. Disliked that the container cup doesn't hold very much, that the bare-floor switch doesn't have an indicator light to let you know if it's on or off and the only way to tell is if the suction for the carpet is not working very well, the cord is not very long, and there's not a compartment to store all the accessories.

Overall-Four Star Recommendation

Found this vacuum confusing. It was easy to put together and has good suction. 
But, the dust cup is small and has to be emptied often if you have a lot of pet hair. The vacuum detaches from the base making cleaning stairs easier but it's heavy. 
Changing the handle position is ridiculous. When you place your foot on the base and pull back you have to use a lot of force. It almost feels like the vacuum cleaner will break.  Not sure if I can recommend this although consumers reports have it a good rating.

...this will be the last time I listen to Consumer reports.  I loved my Shark Navigator and after the hose cracked I researched vacuums to see if there were any other options.  CR stated if you love the Shark Navigator you will love this more!  WRONG!!!  Don't get me wrong, the suction is good and it does clean however it collects hair and dust clumps inside the canister and then it creates this horrible loud sound because the suction is disrupted.  Then to clear it you have to remove the filter and unscrew the vent piece to unclog it then put it back together...horrible because with 2 dogs, it clogs EVERY SINGLE TIME!  Wish I could return this and go back to my Navigator!

It's pretty but...

I bought this vacuum may 16th and it is already breaking down after 2 months. We constantly have to take it apart and put back together for it to function properly. Hair and normal dirt get stuck/clogged in the hose after almost every use.

Keeps breaking down.

I had such high hopes for this vacuum. I have only had it 2weeks and the brush has stopped working. I couldn't use it on my area rugs, like my old vacuum, even with lowering the suction. The brush would just gobble them up. Also, it is loud! I don't think I've ever heard a louder vacuum,

So disappointed☹️
