Value For Money

Convertible Fridge Feature

It's still big enough for a small family already having the refrigerator in the kitchen

It was very well packed and everything was in order.

Great size for a ‘mini freezer' as it's bigger than most. Garage ready and safe for up to -17°C but should not be exposed to rain/weather. Very easy to install as it seems to have rollers or something on the base and it's quite lightweight. I put a bottle of water in it and it froze solid in less than 12hrs on the middle cool setting.

Using as an overflow freezer as our pull out style bottom drawer fridge/freezer isn't enough space. The stand up design means less of a footprint and makes it easier to find space for an extra freezer. I plan to use tubs for items that are not in a structured box as I think wire shelves are less ideal but overall pleased with the amount of space.

We have other Kenmore products, our fridge and stove are almost 20 years old and still working great, we are sure this addition will do the same, even though it came dented.

Works greats, is very quiet

I knew this going in based on other reviews, but this is NOT a convertible fridge/freezer. It's what I wanted, a freezer only with wire shelves each with built-in coolant coils. This freezes  much faster and efficiently than a convertible model. Convertible models have no exposed coolant coils which slows freezing because it relies on ambient air temp only. Glass shelves in these models also block airflow, slowing that process. 

Correct model no. is KKUFWM6.0-W which is a freezer-only model. Fixed shelf space is as follows:
- 16"W x 14"D x 7"H, save for bottom shelf which is 16"W x 8"D x9"H 

Energuide info is shown in photo, 302 kWh per year, so better than most of the lot in this category.

This unit is noticeably noisier than the Koolatron 3.1 cu. ft. model it is replacing. That one was quiet enough to be in a bedroom/living space, this one is not. 

Reversing the door is not as described in the manual, you need to swap the bottom hinge from right to left to change door opening to the right. Plastic caps for the screw holes did not remove easily and broke in the holes, making for a bit of a hassle getting them out (and leaving black holes in the top of the freezer). 

Packaging was protective on all sides. No dents on mine, so take all those shipping damage reviews with a grain of salt. It was however shipped on its side, which is not recommended. I waited 24 hours before plugging it in to be safe.

Good freezer-only: NOT convertible

Good price, but came with minor damage. Small dent in door front and some scratches on the side panel. Freezer door has a great seal but it makes the freezer tippy when opening door. Should have safety cable anchor point on back of freezer to secure to wall. Safety issue!
