Solidly built, quality materials and looks very nice.  However, there isn't a switch located on the lamp as shown in the picture.  But rather a foot switch on the electrical cord that lays on the floor.  Not very practical for most applications.  Works good for me, however, because all top outlets in this room are controlled by a wall mounted dimmer and on/off switch.  If the electrical cord will go behind furniture, this lamp on/off switch will not be accessible.
