Normally I'd never spend so much on a desk lamp, but we needed an ATTRACTIVE lamp for my desk which is in our living room. The standard (ugly) desk lamps just were not going to work.

What isn't immediately apparent in the online photos is the power cord, which does not go through the base of the lamp, but rather through the bottom of the upper swing arm, which I feel is rather unsightly. I really think the manufacturer should have routed it through the base. Since the lamp is so attractive we're going to keep it, but that is why I rated it four stars instead of five.
