Worked great!  We used it to cover smoke discoloration  left after cleaning flat paint.  The house was damaged due to smoke with no fire.  That is no fire to the structure.  The smoke was from a wood burning stove that my mother in-law didn't know how to use.

I had bad water stains from storm damage here in Florida. On top of that was 20 years of smoking by the occupant built up on the ceiling and walls. I had my doubts but after the first coat it could barely be seen. After a light second coat everything was gone and the ceiling and walls were snow white. I put my colored finish coats on the walls and it looks great. The Kilz Restoration primer sealed in the damage, smoke stains, and odors. There is no bleeding thru on the ceilings which I left white. I'm a regular person and I wouldn't steer anyone wrong and certainly not for a company I have nothing to do with. But I do give credit where credit is due, this primer is great.

Concrete is so porous and almost impossible to get rid of the odor! We tried every expensive product you can imagine, even vinegar and baking soda, nothing worked! Until I did research and ordered this right away, not only was it a piece of cake to apply, it dries fast and the odor is completely gone!! Miracle product!

Kilz Max went on nice and smooth and even. I can already smell the difference or I should say not smell!!! As well as thegarage product there was very little smell from that while applying or when it was drying so that was also a huge plus!!!! My dogs even helped me apply it!!!! It's also very easy to clean up when you have messes :)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As an owner of a RV repair company, got called out to repair a wall and ceiling water leak resulting in stains. 
Removed the inside trim, repaired the water leak from the outside, while the inside dried, once dry, installed KILZ and let dry overnight, then repainted the wall and ceiling panel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently painted the ceilings in a house that i purchased.  At some point another previous owner smoked in the home (I was told 5 years prior).  I used 10 gallons of this Kilz restoration on all ceilings in the home (roughly 2000 square feet home) using a sprayer.  I waited one day between each coat to try and not let the popcorn ceiling get too wet.  I then sprayed a coat of ceiling paint onto all ceilings (roughly 5 gallons).  On the floors that had been painted since the person smoked, no stains bled through (they already looked pretty good).  In the lower level it had not been re-painted since the person smoked in the house.  The ceilings in the lower level are all brown.  The stains did bleed through and I am disappointed.  Multiple coats and wasted ceiling paint as well.  This stuff works as a primer for pretty good walls and ceilings (expensive for that), but not a great sealer for mild stains.

Not for nicotine ceilings.
