In my opinion, these are the best double edge blades I have ever used!  I use a safety razor for shaving and these blades are the smoothest and the most effective for a clean nick free shave!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This razor is a very high quality, durable razor. The razor is easy to hold even though its different than your usual razor. Its not the normal weight of a regular razor, this one has some weight to it. Putting the blade in was easy, just unscrew the top and it opens up for the blade. This was my first time using a razor like this so I was a little worried of cuts but all came out well. I got a close, clean shave in the end. Another good thing, my face didn't break out like it does sometimes so thats a plus! Highly recommend, if you are able to take your time because this razor isn't one to hurry and go.

I picked up a safety razor a few years ago, regular cartridges made my extremely sensitive skin irritated and broken out. I swear by the safety razor obviously for the save but also the longevity and also the cost savings it has to offer. I've since gotten this as a gift for all my friends, male or female. Safety razors need to make a comeback! I don't feel there are any cons to using on except for the minor learning curve. This is coming from a guy that HATED shaving, now I look forward to it and am excited about shaving. I really do prefer Gillettes 3 part safety razor over a butterfly style, but that is just my own personal preference.

Never turning back

First off I'm primarily a cartridge guy (love my Fusion Proglide) but lately I've been getting into DE shaving on the weekends when I have time to sit back and really enjoy my shaves. Anyways I'm really glad Gillette is offering a DE razor. I would really love to see Gillette put their top R&D people to develop a next gen DE razor

Anyways this razor, for the money, is a very good quality razor. Solid weight, attractive design and nice mild shave. If you're used to cart shaving it may be a tad more aggressive than what you're used to but thats usually how DE razors shave, even mild ones. Once you get the hang of it gives you a nice super close shave. All an all its a great product and i'm super happy to have this in my collection. Now if Gillette can get back to making American made razors and blades I'd be suuuuppppeerr happy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] my son went to the hospital for surgery  after an accident.  I spent 4 days in icu with him with no razor.  After he was stable I was finally able to get a shave and this is the razor I used.  It gave me a clean cut smooth shave without any cuts pulls or burns making me feel like a new man. Def would recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Out of the box, the razor appears very well constructed, heavy and the chrome plating truly enhances the look of the razor along with the KG crest.     The handle has a a diamond pattern traction and doest slip through your fingers when wet.  The chrome heats up well under hot water for that warm shave.  Ive been mainly a multi-blade razor users but the single blade is very sharp and effectively lines and edges well.    If you're seeking an iconic razor and a change from the plastic or multi-blade razor then this satisfies your search.   It also pair very good with the Gillette Pure Soothing Cream.

Very Nice Iconic Razor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pretty impressed with this Gillette King C. Men's Double Edge Safety Razor that comes with 5 Double Edge Refill Blades, as I have achieved nice close, clean shave results since I started using it daily a couple of weeks ago. Its easy to insert the blade by simply unscrewing the handle turning it counter clock wise until it comes apart, insert the blade and reattach the handle turning clockwise until tight. The handle feels evenly balanced, grips nice and firm in my hand and I'm able to maneuver it easily across my face and neck area, even switching from my right hand to the left. The blade is extremely sharp, but I have not experienced any cutting, nicking or razor burn from its use. Highly recommend to anyone considering this razor.

No irritation

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got my King C. Gillette Men's Double Edge Safety Razor last week and love it. This is the first time I've used a double edged razor and really like the way it gives you a tight edge on my sideburns and beard. A very close and comfortable shave. It comes with the chrome handle and five platinum coated blades. Took me a moment to figure out how to load the blades (you simply unscrew the handle). The handle is well designed and feels good in your hand. A quality razor and a good brand make this perfect for any man.

Excellent Quality

Picked this DE razor up. I was glad to see Gillette offer this. I have been DE shaving since 2007. I left the cartridges behind. I have some vintage Gillettes in my "collection". Again....just gled to see Gillette make this available. No better shave to me than a simple single de blade. Hoping younger people will try this and see that there is a real difference.....and you don't need to break the bank for expensive cartridges. Thank you Gillette!!

Glad to see Gillette making this offering!

So before I start off with my review I want to say that I also have the Gillette Heritage which is a throw back to the 1930's/40's era of Gillette. It has a recreation of a Gillette "new type" handle and what looks like a Muhle R89 head on it. The Gillette Heritage is truly a wonderful safety razor. Very maneuverable and just the right amount of aggressiveness! Plus the case it comes in is a nice throw back as well. Love it! 

What got me started in wet shaving was my Dad's 1977 Gillette Super Adjustable. That razor is just fantastic! It's super easy to load the blades in, the handle is very grippy, the TTO mechanism is perfect, the click adjustments are perfect. Everything with that razor is PERFECT! Gillette seriously needs to invest in manufacturing their own Adjustable safety razors again! Seriously Gillette you'd make a killing! 

Okay so now on to the King C Gillette...... honestly if Gillette is going to throw that name around they should've come out with an Aristocrat like TTO razor similar to the Heritage with a little case and everything.  

The King C Gillette razor itself isn't a bad product. It looks nice, has a nice heft to it and it's a smooth shaving razor.  I do wish the grip on the handle was more like my Super Adjustable in that the grip is the whole length of the handle.  I also feel like the Heritage has a slightly more aggressive head then the King C Gillette. Maybe it's just me. But overall it's not a bad razor. 

I just think Gillette should put more effort into making a Safety razor that's truly their own. Gillette had the Safety Razor market cornered for over 80 years. Wet shaving is making a big come back and I think it's time for Gillette to make their own TTO razors again.
