I could state a lot about this game that I love, but I'll try not to make this too long since I'm not used to leaving reviews here. First off, I was fortunate to receive this game and the bag that came with it in perfect condition, so I have no complaints whatsoever about that. As for the game itself.... it's easy to see why many are labelling as one of the best Kirby games in the whole series. As soon as I heard about this game and that it would be both implementing 3D gameplay and change the scenery to a postapocalyptic scenario, albeit a mostly lighthearted one, I knew it had a lot of potential. And at least for the most part, it very much delivers; it may not be quite as innovative as other recent groundbreaking titles in other Nintendo flagship franchises like Super Mario Odyssey or The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but these changes really help this game deliver an experience that maintains what people already love about Kirby and bring something new to the table. I really love how it's like Super Mario 3D World in the sense that it might be technically 3D, which means it's not completely linear and straightforward and encourages you to explore a little in order to find any of the more hidden Waddle Dees that are a little off the beaten path in a given stage, but it's still not completely wide open and has a fairly linear path to follow. After all, while some people may have liked it if were completely non-linear the way those other games largely are, I think that would have been too sudden and large of a transition for Kirby since this is the main series' first real foray into 3D, whereas those franchises have decades of experience with that format, dating back to the Nintendo 64 era. So I think this was a very well-balanced approach for a franchise that's stuck almost exclusively to 2D up until now; it expands on the formula, but doesn't overwhelm those accustomed to it. 

Anyway, to summarize, this is a game that pretty much fires on all cylinders; the levels and environments are absolutely gorgeous, engaging, and nicely varied; a lot of the music, as it pretty much always is, is catchy and very appropriate, enhancing the mood and experience; the controls and abilities largely work very well; thanks to the introduction of the Beast Pack, there's lot of new enemies and bosses to fight rather than the usual faces, which makes for much more interesting combat; it offers plenty to do even when you've finished the main campaign, including an entire extra segment that continues the story that was started; and as you would expect, the overall difficulty of the game is pretty easy since after all, that's what Kirby is known for, but there's still just enough challenge to keep it engaging. To expand a little more on that, the main campaign is largely pretty easy all the way through, but thanks to their being two separate difficulties, specifically Spring Breeze and Wild Mode, you can make it a little more challenging by choosing the latter, giving yourself less health, which can make the late stages where things get a tad more challenging more intense and require you to really stay on your toes and give it your all. However, I honestly recommend that even if you're a veteran, you mostly play on Spring Breeze on your first playthrough so that you can actually enjoy yourself more the way you were meant to; besides Wild Mode isn't that much harder overall, so by doing this, you're simply giving yourself a little more margin for error, which allows you to take everything in more without worrying about your health when you run into the odd obstacle or segment you weren't expecting that gives you a little trouble. Likewise, you'll probably especially enjoy playing on Wild Mode more when you're replaying it a second time and beyond since by then, you'll know what to expect and how to rescue much more of the Waddle Dees in one go without having to go back, meaning it'll be more inviting to play with a bit self-imposed difficulty since by then, playing on Spring Breeze will probably make it TOO easy. So in short, don't be ashamed to ease yourself into the experience since even if you're a seasoned player, you have no way of knowing exactly what to expect the very first time you play through it like any other game. Then of course, there's some of the post-game material that ramps up the difficulty considerably; let's put it this way, it's still fairly manageable ad not on the same level as other more challenging games altogether, but you may want to stick to Spring Breeze mode even upon replaying them, at least for certain segments, since completing them on Wild Mode can be genuinely difficult. But in the end, it's all up to you, and that's what great about this game; you choose exactly what level of difficulty you're comfortable with at any given time since you can switch between the two modes between any given levels.

I've probably gone on long enough, so I'll wrap this up shortly. The last thing I'll touch on is that even the story is pretty solid this time around; sometimes, the plot just serves as an excuse to play, but that's not entirely true here. I won't spoil anything, but I will say that even though it looks like a straightforward story of rescuing Waddle Dees from this Beast Pack, the final act of the main story throws in a sudden curveball that makes it apparent there's much more to it than that, and some of the post-game activities, especially the additional mini-campaign, only adds to it even further. It may not have the same level as depth as many Zelda games, the best of the Paper Mario series, and certainly not as much as your favorite indie game (think games along the lines of Undertale), but it's enough to make for an engaging experience that offers some unexpected surprises, that you want to see through to the end, and feels rewarding when you do. In short though, if you're a fan of Kirby in any capacity, and especially if you like the 3D formula from games like Super Mario 3D World, this is very much a must buy. You won't be disappointed. Kirby Star Allies was a solid introduction for him on the Switch, but while it was great for introducing newcomers to it, it was a tad too safe and predictable for long-time fans. Here though, he really comes into his own in a way that everyone will enjoy.

If you're a longtime fan, you'll love the first fully 3D entry into the Kirby series. It's full of Kirby charm.
If you're a newcomer to Kirby or just platformers in general, you'll love the accessibility. The fun well thought out levels. You'll be a fan as well!

I ordered Kirby and the Forgotten  Land  for my son's 7th birthday, he was so happy and excited. Seemed easy enough for him to play. Was delivered right on time as all my orders from Walmart are. Great shopping experience.

Great Game

Fun. Absolute joy to play. Difficulty level scales which makes it great for kids but also the challenge is there for adults. A young one can play all the way through to enjoy the story but the completionist will have to work to finish this one 100%
