[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the best coffeemaker we've ever owned, and we've had quite a few.  It seems KitchenAid covered every possible angle with this unit.  What surprised me most is how the carafe mouth is designed.  It pours in a smooth stream without frothing or aerating the coffee!  So it stays fresh longer.  I have never seen that before.  But it's all very impressive - especially the drip head.  Your engineers really outdid themselves with that.  A small burst of hot water lands perfectly in the center, while a larger burst gets evenly distributed wider among the grounds, yet still centered.  It's ingenious - the grounds don't get bypassed at all, and the brewing happens orderly.  Our previous maker which was also a KitchenAid lasted about a decade of twice daily use.  This one seems at least as well made, and is far better designed.  As a bonus, the design is very elegant; I consider it beautiful.  Hats off to KitchenAid on this unit.  You hit an absolute home run!

The superlative coffeemaker!

We purchased this about six years ago when we had gone through several coffee makers.  We purchased this along with the coffee grinder.  We could not be more pleased and we have used both at least twice a day for six years.  No issues.

Great Coffee Maker

A good, but not great, coffee maker.  It makes a decent cup of coffee, but coffee would be better if the water was just a touch hotter during brewing.  Filling the reservoir at the sink is a great idea, but since I'm always going to be rinsing the carafe, it's simpler to just fill it and pour the water into the reservoir anyway.  Space is tight on our countertop, so I have the machine facing outward, to save a few inches, but by having the controls on the side, they are hidden. Finally, when you raise the lid condensation rolls off it and frequently goes down the side of the machine, rather than into the basket. 

I don't dislike this coffee maker, despite my grumbles. The carafe pours perfectly, rare in my experience, and the brew cycle is quick. 

The acid test is going to be how long the machine lasts. My last three coffee makers, all "better" brands, each quit after 2-2.5 years. I'm looking forward to the Kitchen Aid doing significantly better.

A very good machine with small annoyances

The appliance is perfect for my counter, it makes great coffee and the capacity is great for company.  But I already wrote to you to report the warming plate does not work at all. After it worked perfectly just about 3 times, the warming plate stopped working entirely.  I wanted the coffee to stay warm for at least an hour after making it, but it doesn't work.  Can someone assist me?

Warming plate doesn't work on new coffee maker.

It doesn't keep coffee hot for any amount of time, it leaks, it keeps dripping when the pot is pulled out while brewing (despite claiming otherwise), the rubber gasket under/around the heat plate is coming out.  It's also hard to move because the back tank will just pop out so there aren't many good places to hold it. It looks nice, and that's it.

coffee pot too tall and heavy for me because of the way it operates. I am 5 feet tall  and 88 years old with a back disabilaty. I do not need this type of coffee pot.

I'm on my second one as I returned the first one. You can not brew on bold, instantly turns off. It almost always turns off after brewing coffee and I have to turn in back on and hit the plate warmer to keep the coffee warm. If I run the timer I almost always find the pot off and the coffee cold. I tried to check the manual but nothing indicates I'm doing anything wrong.

Terrible for the price

After three days, we are back to our old sixteen year old kitchen aid. The keep hot burner won't stay on and the carafe popped a big hole in it on day two!  A new one is back ordered for a month. I guess we are not the only ones with a brittle pot. The coffee maker was very expensive.

We purchased this coffee maker for a standard countertop drip coffee maker thinking KitchenAid makes a well known, well thought out product.  We were very disappointed.  Predominately the showerhead retains alot of condensated water.  When you open the lid, water spills all over the counter, and when you go to prep coffee for the night before, cold condensated water saturates the grounds before brewing starts the next morning.  Upon trying to return the product, KitchenAid refused because the product was used.

Keep warm plate fails to turn on after brewing.  Have gone through the warranty process and have had three coffee makers all with the same issue.  Would not recommend.
