Our old toaster was getting tired & after a lot of research we decided on the KitchenAid. It's a 4 slice with wide slots & has the high lift lever for short slices. My wife is very pleased with it and sys she's never had one that toasts so evenly and consistently time after time. After more than a half century of marriage she's finally satisfied with the one appliance that gets used nearly every day.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this toaster a few weeks ago and we appreciate it a lot. Effective, also cooks bread fairly, very wide slits, especially crispy and fluffy once cooked. The 1800 watt is what we were looking for and we are not disappointed.

Just purchased, my wife plugged in, and toasted 1 piece of bread.  Toaster has gross metallic smell.. no exaggeration.. we could smell this from 40 feet away.    We  thought we had an electrical fire in our house.  Pushed down levers and confirmed smell is coming from toaster.

That activator arm to start the toaster does not work. It keeps popping up. It doesn't attach at the bottom when you first put the toast in very frustrating for a brand new toaster.

I purchased a new toaster because the same one that i have had for several years was just toasting on one side.  Only to have the new one do the same exact thing.  Really expected more from kitchen aid.  . Paying this much for a toaster that only toasts on one side is insane.
