The best hand mixer I have ever tried.  Quite quiet but very efficient, even at low speeds.  Don't be fooled by the slow speed, it works better than other mixers with higher speed.  The first three speeds they are really low which is great to avoid splashing.

Excellent hand mixer.

I love this little mixer.  My old one, different brand, was heavy, loud and had an initial speed that was much too fast.  Mixing/baking was always followed by a thorough cleaning of the counter and backsplash because things were either dusted in flour or dotted with batter.  Not fun.  This KitchenAid mixer is quiet and lightweight, with an initial slow speed that prevents all of the aforementioned problems.  It works beautifully.

I wish I'd purchased this years ago!

Kitchen Aid

Have only used it a couple of times so far, but mixed opinions. On the plus side, it's quiet. On the minus, the changed (since my old 7-speed) controls don't feel super sturdy to me, but time will tell. One note is that what you see on it that looks like chrome is actually silver paint-covered plastic. I would have preferred either chrome or simply the same plastic as the rest of the appliance, no need to paint it silver because I worry that will flake off at some point, and probably into the food I' making.

Pros and cons

Not a big fan of this type of beaters.  Old style beaters work more effectively.  Mixer part is nice.

I bought this mixer over a month ago and used it over the holidays. It replaced a similar Kitchen Aid mixer that was about 20 years old. 1.  I'm not happy with the upper most speeds of the mixer (slower) or 2. the control buttons (one button that easily slides to go from 0 to FAST vs one toggle switch to turn on and another toggle type switch to increase speeds.) 3. The materials this one is made of is not of the heaviness/quality of my old one. I can't return this mixer now since it's over 30 days. If I had tried it out sooner and discovered it's deficiencies, I surely would have. I gave it 3 stars because in the end, it did mix the food stuffs as expected.

NOT LIKE THEY USED TO MAKE THEM

Speed adjustment awkward and hard to control while mixer is in operation. Don't like pressing down on adjustment bottons.  Prefer slide. adjustment on old mixer. I am happy with power.

Speed adjustment feature is a definite drawback.

The controls are too fidgity.  The cord is always in the way and hangs up on the edge of the bowl. Seems to wander all over the place when creaming shortening and sugar.  The beaters are not interchangeable!  One must be placed on the left and the other must go in the right. WHAT? 
This thing is going to end up in the trash.
I've owned a few generic, cheap mixers that were far superior to this one. I really wanted and expected a really nice mixer.  Maybe it's just me. Very disappointed.

I Don't Like It:  I warned you!

I will never buy from this company again. Original purchase sat in a box for 2 years. Bought as a gift. Never worked. When she finally took it out of the box found a note stating why it was returned. Had to buy her another one. They gave me 20%
