It's hard to find a tea kettle that impresses you,, but this one really does.  It has a 7 cup capacity and digital temperature diplay.  It i very fast to boil, and you can choose how hot you need the water. Some teas prefer a less than boiling temp, while others want it boiling hot.  Great option for C or F viewing.

It is very convenient and functional to use. I use this for coffee, tea and special tea, which needs at least take an hour to extract from the herb completely. I often forget the kettle on top of stove when I am doing multitasking and it makes the kettle burn. This new KitchenAid Electric Kettle helps me to do other things during the kettle makes my special tea,which takes time. 
This kettle has time and temperature control function. It is wonderful! I like its color choice and design.

Super Convenient

i bought Kitchenaid's electric kettle and I simply love it. I am an avid tea drinker and love the different temperature settings. The digital display is cool too. I love that it will hold the temperature for you for up to 30 minutes. It also matched perfectly with my Kitchenaid Stand mixer, I have them both in Empire red.

WONDERFUL KETTLE

I bought my kettle in Feb 2015 and have used it everyday since then and it has worked like a charm! I use it for coffee in the morning and then tea at night. I love the feature to lock the temperature for a short amount of time so you can set your water and then walk away. The top button to open the lid has worn a bit and need a little extra firm press to pop open. The beeping is a bit loud and there is no way to turn it off or down and that is really the only thing I would change. I love this kettle! I've never replaced the filter and only now has it starterd to have an effect on the taste of the water. I wish it was easier to find the replacement filter in stores or online.

Reliable kettle

This is a sleek and functional kettle with a solid feel. You know it is not going to fall apart in your hands. The lid mechanism on the first one I purchased broke after 3 openings. KitchenAid replaced the first kettle, and the new one has worked flawlessly for over a month.

Sleek and functional

The annoying extra beeps when placing the device on its power platform have been eliminated. The Electric Kettle heats water quickly and works as advertised. If it significantly outlasts its predecessor( a previous incarnation of this model which lasted a month beyond the warranty), then I would whole heartedly recommend this. I suspect, this will outlast its predecessor only because my past experience with a variety of Kitchenaid products has been excellent.

New and improved

The product looks very monumental: the steel body resembles a bombshell, the handle looks able to sustain a hundred pound load, the power cord is so thick, that it should conduct a lightning stroke. The temperature control is perfect for setting the desired water temperature and for measuring the water temperature while off the base (when the AA batteries are installed). The price is reasonable - a really good value for money.  I adore the look and features and would definitely recommend the product to my friends.

However there are a few issues which could be improved. The sound is quite mean and could be more tuneful, or at least could be used for indicating the completion only. The kettle beeps when heating is complete, when setting the temperature, when turning on, when enabling the temperature hold, and when setting the kettle to the base (why?!). Sometimes it acts as an unwanted alarm for my whole family when I'm making a cup of tea alone in the early morning.
The predefined temperature values look originally aligned with Celsius, rather than Fahrenheit scale: 50C (122F), 60C (140F), 70C (158F), 80C (176F), 90C (194F), 100C (212F). The thermometer also looks translating Celsius to Fahrenheit, since there are no Fahrenheit values not matching even Celsius values. For instance, there's no 177F between 176F (80C) and 178F (81C). I would expect the Fahrenheit scale fully supported in an American product, but so far I have to use the native Celsius scale.
The temperature control and off-line thermometer are sometimes inconsistent. For example, the desired water temperature is set to 80C, the kettle completes heating, beeps and indicates the final temperature matching the setting. However, when one takes the kettle off the base and pushes any button - it shows 72-76C (and sometimes even lower). When the one sets the kettle back to the base and push Start, it won't start because the temperature is still considered 80C. But if the one changes the setting to 90C and then back to 80C, the kettle indicates 72-76C and starts heating till 80C. Pretty confusing behavior!

Monumental kettle!

I bought my kettle in November and we use it a lot!  I love everything about it, except that it started rusting a little at the lid after 2 months. I'm guessing this isn't supposed to happen. I submitted a customer service request so hopefully I'll hear some helpful news!

Love the kettle, but started rusting after 2months

It's extremely sturdy; I love the ability to battery-power the unit, the overall components were very strong and pleasing to look at while it worked, and you can manually enter a temperature of your choice.  A couple of days after I got it, the lid stopped working and wouldn't open anymore and I pretty much had to rip it open just to get water inside, so I took it back and this model wasn't available so I got a different model which I like less, but the lid opens .

I loved it, but the kid stopped opening/working.

It looks great in my kitchen, boils water very quickly, but the screws holding the top of the handle have fallen off twice. They fell into the pot the first time I used it and with some effort my husband managed to screw them back into place, the very next time I used it two of them fell out again. It's not a good feeling pouring boiling water and the handle pulls away from the carafe. Disappointed with the usefulness.
