this is a very sturdy machine, its blends great,  only thing i didn't like was having to hold the button down while using it, i didn't have enough grip strength to hold it down for too long at a time, other than that i really liked it a lot

Very powerful. Easy to use. Easy to clean up, just detach the lower portion and throw it in the dishwasher. It is a little spendy compared to the rest.

Worth the extra money

I have already used this a few times.  Blended veggies for a soup and I plan to try it for a quiche soon.  It is very sturdy and heavy duty compared to other similar brands. The cord was a bit short for the outlet I wanted to use but overall it was fine.  KitchenAid really never disappoints

Heavy Duty Sturdy blender for sure

On/off is on the front. Liked that the speed control was on the top. (see photo) Also that the appliance comes apart for easy cleaning.  The included beaker is good quality, holds 3 cups, and comes with a nice top for storage purposes. Electrical cord is round, gray/black and sturdy.   Would recommend to others.

Recommended item

Love this thing. It has become a staple in my kitchen gadgets, I use it for soups, mayo, homemade chicken bouillon, sauces, etc. it gets the job done for sure. It's a powerful blender, I don't really notice a huge difference between the power settings. It is also very pretty looking, it does not look cheap it looks fancy and it has a good weight to it. I like the cup it includes, thats definitely a plus. It's also pretty easy to clean. 

The reason I took a star is because the button to operate it is kinda hard to press and hold. I have bad inflammation in my hands and holding that button for a long time blending a soup can be difficult/painful for me when I'm flaring up. I do wish that it was easier to press or it would just have a normal on/off switch so it is easier to use for people like me. I also wish it had some sort of storage case or just better way to fix the cord to it during storage. 

All in all, I love it, and I'm glad I purchased it. It gets a lot of use in my house. Just wish it was a little bit easier to operate and store.

It's great, just needs a few tweaks

It's heavy duty and works well. Clean up is so easy! 
Only thing I would change is maybe a third speed. 
The go button is on the side, if that makes a difference for someone.

This is a great quality product. Powerful and well built. Purées beautifully. The problem is the power button is awkward to push down and hold while using. Your thumb will ache if you have to push down this power button for very long. I also wish that it had a rubber guard along the bottom because if you use this blender in any crockpot or nice cookware, it is stainless steel so it will scratch up the bottom. You can really only use it in glass or the plastic container that it comes with the best designed handheld blenders have that rubber guard or something to protect your cookware. I wish it had that and the push button is just an awful design

Poor power button design

Just FYI, the manual states it comes with a pan guard. It DOES NOT, Kitchenaid stopped including them because they kept breaking on first use and kept getting bits of plastic in the food. Now they just say it's not needed, the METAL scalloped edge won't scratch your pans. I'm calling BS on that - but the blender itself is OK. I believe it will do the job I intended it to do (puree tomato sauce for canning - so I don't have to peel all those tomatoes). I haven't tried ice cubes for a smoothie yet - but I don't make many of those anyway. I'm just extremely disappointed that Kitchenaid won't fix the issue with the pan guard - all they have done is ignore it. That's why the 3 stars - it's not for the blender, but the garbage way Kitchenaid chose to handle a bad design decision.

NO PAN GUARD

This product was difficult to use since you have to continuously press down on the button for it to operate. If you have have any weakness in hands or wrist, look for a different product. Especially since you have to press the button just right and hard for it to operate. It did a fair job at pureeing food, but much easier to use a blender.

Difficult to Operate

Broke white making soup the first time I used it. The button is also very hard to push because it is made of silicone and when you push it, it sinks in really far before it activates so it puts a lot of strain on your fingers just to keep it on.
