I was so pleased with the outcome of my ice cream. But, remember, you MUST freeze the bowl for the recommended hours and the ice cream batter has to be chilled as directed for the ultimate results. I used my old standing recipe for my ice cream measuring the 46 oz maximum capacity for the batter. It expands as it freezes and you will get almost 2 quarts of finished ice cream. It keeps in your freezer for several weeks if you need to make it ahead of time. It is a WONDERFUL product and so easy to use!! I love it!

Exactly what I wanted to make most delicious  homemade ice cream!

We used our new Kitchenaid ice cream maker attachment for the first time this weekend and loved it!  Made some homemade banana nut ice cream that tasted just as delicious,  rich and creamy as the ice cream our parents made when we were kids.  Brought back great memories.  Looking forward to using it again!

I loved the ice cream attachment so much I purchased a second one. I have used both a couple of times to make ice cream and gelato and they perform great. The nice thing is that I can make ice cream of gelato and know exactly what ingredients I am putting in and know where they came from and not have to worry about what a large multi-national food corporation is putting in my ice cream or gelato. The ice cream we made with this mixer was the better than anything we could have ever purchased from the store.

Nice Ice Cream Churn

I love the ice cream attachment. When I received it as my birthday present the only part that did not fit my mixer was the drive shaft. Contacted KitchenAid and sent it to me at no cost. Now it fits my Pro Line 7. 

I made multiple ice creams already and works perfectly. I read other reviews that mention the bowl is leaking. What I do with mine is, first I do not get my freezer to the coldest settings, as mention in the instructions. The gel in the bowl freezes great, since it is the same type of gel use for the gel packs and it stays cold for hours outside of the freezer. Second, I do not get the bowl to touch the ice, I have a plastic mixing bowl and I put the ice cream bowl inside. And last, the instruction said when you are done with the bowl is to wash it in warm water. Here, what I do is I let the ice cream bowl to be at room temperature and the ice melted away and on them I wash it, otherwise you get the plastic to expand too fast and it will leak. I never store it in the freezer has mention in the instructions, I only put it in the freezer when I plan to make ice cream. To this day, no leaks!!!

Finally... Home Made Ice Cream

I purchased the Ice cream maker last month for my Kitchenaid stand mixer. So far I made fabulous creamy vanilla and chocolate Ice cream. I loved the idea of making fresh homemade Ice cream for my family, including, adding fruit into the mix-- strawberries, raspberries, peaches or in the summer I grow blackberries will make it even better!!  Kitchenaid makes durable products which I recently also purchased food grinder and the rotor slicer/shredder attachments for my 6 qt. stand mixer which I had for many years. I'm very pleased I purchased all of them making it faster to make any meals and I find I can attach them to my mixer very easily.

Makes delicious Ice Cream

I bought this about a month ago and have used it once! We filled a recipe they had in the book which was good. If you are looking for something fast I wouldn't use this the bowl takes 15+ hours to freeze then most mixes take 8 hours to cool

Great for small families

The ice cream maker attachment is super easy to use! After making my homemade ice cream I don't think I can ever go back to store bought ice cream, especially considering how easy it was to make. A couple of things that were the reason for my 4 star rating (vs. 5 stars:)
- attaching the driver was not intuitive for me, especially since it didn't look like the picture in the manual and the manual didn't have good instructions. After looking through YouTube I figured it out.
- not enough in the way of fruit ice cream recipes in the booklet but that's why there's the Internet.

Super easy to use!

I got this for Christmas.  I have tried several recipes in it.  I have found that the recipe that I got from my mom that contains condensed milk, sugar, whole milk and eggs doesn't really freeze in this. I found another recipe online that uses heavy cream, whole milk and sugar freezes good.  Both recipes work better if the liquid is put in the fridge and allowed to get cold first.
