Very well built, powerful motor and capable of blending pretty much any food and beverage you need. The $229 I paid for this product was well spent as I expect it to last a lifetime.

Kitchenaid K400 Blender

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) So far I am loving this blender!  It's been quite some time since I've owned a blender and I don't remember them being this user friendly.  I sure appreciate the preset options, it takes the guess work out of it.  I've used it quite a bit since receiving it. It's easy to use and easy to clean. 
My iced coffee drinks and smoothies come out like silk!  
A recipe called for crushed tomatoes - I had diced......a few pulses in the blender and crushed tomatoes it is!
I don't usually have appliances sit on my counters but this is aesthetically pleasing and used enough to warrant a permanent place. 
It gets confusing with all the blender makes and models on the market today, but the choice was easy.  I chose KitchenAid because I believe this blender will be around for years to come.

Very powerful blender

I have always trusted KitchenAid because of its reputation for making quality appliances. My blender was a Christmas gift, and I was very impressed with how well it performed. It is powerful, blends smoothly, and works much better than several other brands I have used in the past.
However, I am disappointed that after only a few months of normal use, the pitcher started leaking from the base. This is a significant issue that makes the blender difficult to use and creates a mess every time I blend something.
Considering the price of KitchenAid products, I expected better durability and quality. When you invest in a premium appliance, you expect it to last much longer without major problems. While I still appreciate the blender's performance, I am disappointed by this defect and hope KitchenAid will stand behind its products and provide a solution.
I'd give it a positive but honest tone: praising how well it works while expressing disappointment about the leaking issue.

Great performance but pitcher leaks

I've had this blender for less than a year. I'm very happy with the look, function, and power. The big issue is the base of the jar. The seals around the shaft did not perform as expected. The shaft for the blades is loose and leaks. I am disappointed, as I expected better from the brand.

Only one major flaw.

I loved my blender at first and then after a while the bottom part where the jar connects to started to melt away and causing a weird brown liquid to get all over the bottom of my blender and the base. Now its a hazard and even temporarily blew my electrical outlet  out. The base is now broken and the jar has black liquid all over it underneath.

Don't recommend. Black plastic melted from the bas

Kitchen Aid

I bought this blender over a year ago and was very happy initially. However, it started to leak a brown liquid from the bottom of the blender.  The seals, etc were fine, but I used it about a month ago and it started to smoke.  The seals had split and liquid leaked into the motor and the bottom of the plastic jar is melted.

Leaked and didn't last

I have had this blender for three years, but I do not recommend it.  The personal blender just leaked black gunk into the contents since day one so I couldn't use it. The main jug worked great for a year or so then started leaking every time i use it, and the motor base is hard to wipe clean.  I can see from the reviews this is a common problem. The motor is great and hte blender produced good results at first, so its a shame the jugs are so poorly made. I wouldn't recommend you buy this blender and it makes me not want to trust KitchenAid blenders in general.

Don't buy - jug leaks

Looks nice and well built. The problem is the pitcher. It leaks rusty fluid after use. Smells rotten and metallic.  Machine is basically unusable. I wouldn't recommend this product.

Leaky pitcher

I bought this blender two years ago, and it has never worked perfectly. In the beginning, almost in the second month, it started to leak a black liquid from the bottom of the base, and now it is worse, contaminating the food inside the blender. It is so disgusting and potentially harmful. Before this, I always believed that KitchenAid was a good brand.

So disappointing
