I absolutely love my stand mixer. I use it at least 3-5 times per week. A few years ago I had to replace the coated beater because of chipping. I never put it in the dishwasher. Looks like I will need to replace this one as well also due to chipping.

Kitchen Aid

I've had my kitchenaid professional 5 plus mixer - bowl lift for a couple years and love it. however the white beater has chipped and been replaced twice already. i do not put it in dishwasher and it does not hit the bottom of the bowl when in use. my son bought me a KSM5THFBSS but it is too small. I need a larger one. Can you help me with the model # of the larger beater to purchase?

I just took it out of the box and used for the first time and it's already chipped. How can something this expensive dive not even survive the first use?

Chipped first use

The chipping is ridiculous. Even with the bowl height adjusted, it's going to run into the occasional nut, etc. that creates enough pressure to chip the coating. 

A 1.4 overall rating should be telling the product team something: make a non-coated alternative!

Chips and needs periodic replacement

Contacted KitchenAid via their on-line contact form with picture of chipping beater, but was told to contact another dept. (with not much success). KitchenAid stand mixer (bowl lift style) is the best with its power and large capacity.  Like so many others, I have an issue with the beater that is chipping, and worried about using it with micro plastics getting into my food.  Poor choice of material and hoping to be able to replace with something better ( but not able to find) ??

I have a professional 5 plus lift stand mixer and the paddle is chipping and getting in my cookies.  I cannot sell these and need to know if kitchenaid has another paddle i can get that will not chip. If you are in the food business whatch out for what type of paddle your mixer has before purchasing it

Paddle chips and gets into food

I have had Kitchen Aid mixers and had liked them and used them. The current one has chipping on the beater, and I came on here to order another one, but after seeing all the complaints on the replacement ones having chips, I can't see buy another one that chips also. Do you have one without the white coating that will fit the 5 qt lift bowl?

Looking for a 3rd replacement for my flat beater. I have never put it in the dishwasher, and it is still chipping. Would love Kitchenaid to make a stainless steel version!

Terrible product

Bought kp26m1 mixers, one for myself one for each of my kids, my flat beater has begun to chip the enamel with just over a year of occasional use, no dishwasher.

Disappointing

Bought replacement for metal paddle that was ruined in dishwasher. Replacement one with coating chips paint into food. VERY POOR design and frankly ridiculous that a perfectly functioning Kitchen Aide Professional 5 (that I used to love) is useless.

DO NOT BUY!

I purchased my lift bowl mixer in 1978!  It has been and continues to be a real work horse.  I used it and many of the accessories frequently, all these years, without complaint.  However, the coated flat beater began chipping about 20 years ago.  I attempted to replace it with a beater that stated it would fit but did not, and gave up on finding one to accommodate my model number.  I resorted to removing the remaining coating.  It is ugly as sin, but works.  That being said, I would still like to find a beater that is compatible with my K5SS model mixer. Please, advise as to how I might obtain one.
