Prepares food faster and more efficiently.

Prone to breaking or detaching from the base.

Simple to attach and use with minimal effort.

Made with materials that can withstand wear and tear.

I bought the KitchenAid Fresh Prep Slicer/Shredder Attachment thinking it would help me slice a few cucumbers and maybe shred some cheese. What I did not expect was to unlock a level of kitchen power that should honestly require a permit.

The moment I attached this thing to the mixer, it transformed from a friendly countertop appliance into a high‑speed produce‑obliterating machine. I fed a carrot into it and it shredded so fast I thought I accidentally opened a wormhole.

I'm not exaggerating — I blinked and suddenly had enough shredded cheese to supply a mid‑sized taco truck. I shredded so much zucchini I briefly considered starting a farmers market. I sliced potatoes so perfectly I felt like I should be wearing a chef's coat and yelling “YES, CHEF” at myself.

The attachment is easy to clean, but only because it vaporizes anything that touches it. I'm convinced if I dropped a brick in there, it would come out as confetti.

Pros:
- Turns your KitchenAid into a culinary wood chipper
- Slices and shreds faster than your brain can process
- Makes you feel like a professional chef even if you can't boil water

Cons:
- You will shred everything in your fridge “just to see what happens”
- You will run out of containers to store all the shredded stuff
- You will become emotionally attached to the power

Final Verdict:
If you want an attachment that slices, shreds, and makes you question why you ever used a knife like a peasant, this is the one.
Just be prepared to shred everything that isn't nailed down.

This Thing Turned Me Into a Full‑Time Vege

walmart.com

This attachment saves so much time in the kitchen. It was easy to attach to my KitchenAid mixer, and it shredded cheese and sliced vegetables quickly with consistent results. Cleanup was easier than expected, too. If you already own a KitchenAid mixer, this is definitely worth adding to your collection.

Makes food prep so much easier

I originally tried a separate appliance but it was overly complicated. The Kitchen Aid attachment is easy, efficient and works perfectly (and doesn't take any countertop space). And you have to love that a brand new attachment fits my 32-year-old Kitchen Aid mixer! Absolutely love the quality of the tool!

Such a great tool!

Kitchen Aid

This is this product is a great product. It attaches to my KitchenAid and it works wonders saves time. I love it.
I would recommend this product to anyone that's thinking about buying it. I also would give it for gifts to people that have Kitchen Aid.

The blades are extremely sharp and efficient. The only flaw is when I want to slice carrots and celery it does not slice but long mrx badly cut and it is disappointing

Effective

I was given this product to review and I am very happy with it. The attachment feels substantial. It is easy to mount on the basic unit. It slices and grates beautifully. The slices are a good thickness - thin but not too thin. There are 2 grating blades to choose from - coarse and fine. This is quite useful. The blades are super easy to change with a quick release button, making them easy to change out as you change the food you are processing. The hopper is a good size. I always wish for them to be bigger but this one is quite sufficient. There are 2 food pushers, large and a smaller one. I like these, the small one gives you more control when grating smaller items. The larger pusher also has a hollow center which is very handy when grating or slicing items like carrots. It keeps them upright. Really a very good design.
The only limitation I found with the attachment is that when I pushed hard on the food in the hopper I found it necessary to support the unit with my other hand to facilitate the pushing of the food while not pushing the unit off its mount. For example when I was shredding potatoes for hash browns, the last little piece of potato I had to push pretty hard - that is when I found it necessary to support the bottom of the unit. It was easy to do and caused no problem.
Overall I am very happy with the unit and highly recommend it. My family is looking forward to scalloped potatoes.

Good Design

It's nice that it takes up less room than a food processor, but food tends to get stuck on the between the attachment and the barrel and doesn't get shredded properly. It's still easier and let time consuming than grating by hand, but now sure it's worth the price.

Just ok

I've always coveted a KitchenAid mixer and the versatile attchments, and this year I was finally able to gift a lot to myself. This Prep Slicer and Shredder has quickly become one of the most used appliances in my kitchen. I have cut cheddar, paresan, cabbage, iceberg lettuce, carrot, potato and more in only a few weeks since receiving. My only negatives are that is stains very easily from carrots/beetroot/etc (and I have been shredding lots of carrot) and that there are 3 additional blades that need to be purchased separately.

GOing to be my most used attachment

kitchenaid.com.au

Was not impressed with the cheese grater. The cheese gets trapped and you have to cut the blocks in half length wise to fit. Have not tried the slicer feature.

Cheese 👎🏻

I love my KitchenAid mixer so any excuse to use it more often gets my vote. I have the spiraliser - works extremely well. Thought I would give the slicer / shredder a go. While I was happy with results (I shredded carrot and cabbage for a coleslaw), it seemed like a lot of effort and made a lot of mess (not as straightforward at spitting out the shredded vegies as the pictures indicate) for the outcome. I think it is easier to throw it all into my traditional food processor. I like how the blades go into the dishwasher - probably less chance of injury than my mandolin. Maybe it will get better with some more practice...

Great results - a bit messy getting there

It grinds hard veggies to a pulp instead of slicing, etc. so far, I hate it. Also, no instructions as to how to even connect it to your machine. I had to look online or try to figure it out on my own. I like KitchenAid mixers, but I don't like this accessory.

KitchenAid® Slicer/Shredder Attachment front-facing view with 2-in-1 feed tube, visible 3mm slicing, 4mm medium and 6mm coarse shredding blades, 2-in-1 food pusher and compact storage case; connects to KitchenAid stand mixer power hub to slice and shred into bowls, often used to prep grated cheese or large-batch vegetable salads.
