So, I used this and I guess I didn't read the directions and ground up some pepper and flew all over the place. The simple solution was to put the lid on the grinder and then it worked perfectly my mistake. It is a useful kitchen tool and if u like to grind spices and such it is a great addition to the coffee grinder.

Spice grinder

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The lids do not really fit securely on the grinders as a result ground spices can come out all over the inside of the grinder

Good in concept

It worked great for a couple of months but the rubber piece that connects the grinder to the individual cups, wore down and now it won't engage. The knobs on that rubber piece wore out after around 75 uses. Not very happy with it and I cant find a way to fix it or order a replacement piece.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I bought the coffee grinder so I could get the spice grinder cups - tried to keep the plastic cover on and then put the grinder cover on to activate spice grinding - cover flies off and the spices go everywhere -

Sounds like a great idea but because the grinding bowls are so short, whatever you are trying to process flies up and over the bowl making a mess and ot gets down in the motor chamber, which you can't rinse out so you're going to need compressed air to blow it out - making another mess.  They need to design a lid specifically for the grinding bowls that will contain what you're processing in the bowl.

Messy and useless

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I have the same issue as the other review. The spice lids do not firmly attach onto the spice grinders. It's hit or miss when using them. Some times the work. But more often that not, the lid flies off and it makes a mess all inside the motor assembly. This is just a poor design or a manufacturing problem that the lid are too small to attach correctly on the spice grinder.

Horrisbile and Useless Design. Just makes a mess!

Waste of Money

I bought the spice accessory set to complement my coffee grinder. It's completely useless, the lid of the grinder doesn't fit properly on the accessory and most of the dry spices fall out. It is ridiculous how useless the accessory kit is!! The actual spice grinder “bins” need to be taller just like the coffee grinder “bin”  for the kit to be effective. I am quite disappointed and I have a big Kitchen-aid collection.
