Attachments fall short of expected quality standards.

Good replacement for the original white enamel coated beater, which flaked.  Hopefully this one lasts.

Stainless Kitchen Aid Flat Beater

I bought my KitchenAid mixer years ago and have absolutely loved using it but the coating on my flat beater is coming off and I am afraid to use it anymore because the chipped coating is probably going to end up in my food.  I considered ordering the new Stainless Steel flat beater but am reading in the Reviews that it is too short to reach the bottom of the bowl.  I don't know what to do.

This item does not work with the K5SS model mixer.  The beater does not reach to bottom of bowl and fails to properly mix the batter.

Too small for mixer model K5SS

Doesn't reach bottom of bowl.  Ordered to replace a coated one that was chipping so I couldn't use it.  Now I am using the bread attachment to make a cake because this stainless steel one doesn't reach the bottom so it's pointless and I can't use a whisk to make a cake.  I guess at least it's stainless steel so there's that.

I would tell everyone to NEVER buy this attachment.  I think it's careless of them to even make this.  Eventually the white coating chips off.  They have to know that this is going to happen especially given all the negative comments, so the only reason they continue to make it is because it's cost effective I'm sure.  I'm now having to spend way more money to buy a stainless stell one and pray there are no problems with it in the future.

DON'T BUY WHITE COATED FLAT BEATER

I love my kitchenaid mixer but my flat beater and dough hook are chipping.  I have continued to use it but now read that it has lead.  I would like these attachments replaced immediately.  Why would kitchenaid, that is suppose to be top quality, put out a dangerous product such as this.

I've had the mixer over 5 years and have to replace the ridiculous shedding-plastic beater at least every year. Mostly when it starts - within 4 cakes or batches of cookies made using it - I throw out the flaked plastic beater, THROW OUT THE RUINED BATTER, call relatives and say, "SORRY, NO CAKE AGAIN, MY KITCHENAID FAILED AGAIN". 

Then I use a whisk, a wooden spoon, or a portable (NOT KITCHENAID) hand mixer for a year or so, until I have to make a lot of cakes/cookies, then I've usually bought another crappy thing, which fails after a few batches. It even fails mixing together pancake batter: pieces of plastic in the pancake batter? Are you kidding? 

I won't buy the stainless steel one, as it does NOT REACH THE BOTTOM OF THE BOWL. I know that from reviews here, but heard from friends who threw out their Kitchenaid and got another brand, about this useless accessory. 

I'm at the point now of finding another brand, any brand but this, and first Ill search who is making these and make sure they are not making the new brand before I buy.
