Attachments fall short of expected quality standards.

Good replacement for the original white enamel coated beater, which flaked.  Hopefully this one lasts.

Works great, fits well. I tried a knock off stainless beater and that didn't fit well. Got this and has worked very well for us. No need to worry about a coating to flake off anymore.

Stainless Kitchen Aid Flat Beater

I bought a stainless steel replacement set of beaters for m5 quart Ktchenaid.  I love that I can toss them in the dishwasher and there is no coating to chip of flake off.  I wonder why Kitchenaid doesn't just include the stainless steel attachments with the mixer when you buy it.  It's a waste to get the burnished ones and have to replace them and when customers invest in an expensive mixer, they expect the parts to be high quality which the burnished attachments are not.  I think most of the reviews here are for the burnished attachments that come with the machine rather than the stainless steel ones.  I recommend replacing all the attachments with stainless steel and buying an extra stainless steel whisk so you can whip egg whites and egg yolks without having to worry.

I finally used my mixer and it came with this attachment. When I made cake for the first time by beautiful white cake had a silverish/ grey hue to it. I'm nervous about making bakery items for non family now if it's going to be discolored from the metal rubbing on metal.

Works great but what's this discoloration?

Doesn't reach bottom of bowl.  Ordered to replace a coated one that was chipping so I couldn't use it.  Now I am using the bread attachment to make a cake because this stainless steel one doesn't reach the bottom so it's pointless and I can't use a whisk to make a cake.  I guess at least it's stainless steel so there's that.

I bought this a few years ago and noticed the beater had black and white spots once I cleaned it in the dish washer.  I use to give it a second hand cleaning to keep using it for a few years and decided only to wash it by hand. Last time I used it, my husband put it again in the dish washer without knowing and it came out completely black. I washed it by hand but the black dust kept coming off.  I don't want to use it anymore since this powder could be transferred to the mix (cookies for my son!!). I checked in this website to buy another one but noticed this is not an isolated case.  I'm not buying this since it seems all of them has the same problem.  I'm glad I read all this reviews before purchasing another of this beaters with dish washer safe false advertisement.  How is this getting approved by the Kitchen Aid QA department?

Completely damaged after cleaning in dish washer.

I have no idea what happened to this beater, but over a few years of using and washing, it lost its shiny sheen and not it is a dull grey and rough...I went to use it yesterday and something inside it where it attaches to the mixer has warped or changed and it will no longer go on to the mixer.   I can't seem to find the replacement part for the Professional 600 - 6 QT mixer.

Ruined?

First thing is that my mixer sounds like a jet taking off, my moms older version doesn't sound like that. Second, the flat beater and dough hook that came with it the white porcelain chipped almost immediately, and now come to find out there is lead used in the product and I have been using them to bake cookies and cakes for my kids and grandkids l. Im quite disgusted with this, I'm not sure why you don't get stainless steel for all of the products and my wire whip is tarnished and nasty. 

For as expensive as these items are the quality and craftsmanship is not what it use to be, you would think with technology you would do better and not worse. Just the world we live in today, quay is obsolete l.
