My whole family has kitchenaid mixers from the 80s and my wife had to have one so last Christmas I got her one.  At my own fault I put her paddle and whisk in the dishwasher after soaking the sugar and sticky stuff off, and they both oxidized and turned black.  This was an expensive learning curve but I'm happy to report this whisk is dishwasher safe and survived the holiday baking parties this year!!  I'd advise anyone to buy this and the ceramic paddle if you buy a mixer because the attachments that come with are too delicate for a dishwasher world.

Kitchen Aid

This just arrived. The wires did not look shiny like the rest of the whisk. On further inspection it was also sticky.  The part that was attached to the mixer had watermarks on it like it was used and washed.  So, I thought maybe it was a used and returned. I tried to wash the wires but they still look dull. This reminds me of the whisk that came with my mixer. The wires were stainless steel which was great. But the end part was probably aluminum and would stain black on my hand when i detached it

Horrified by the quality of the whisk attachment that came with my KSM 150. Despite hand-washing, it has oxidized and it doesn't matter how careful I am, I get that gross dark-grey crud all over my hands (which then goes on tea towels and everywhere else I touch), not to mention in the food I'm making. I've had to throw out entire batches. I am so disappointed and annoyed. This quality of stainless steel has not been used in quality products for a very long time. So disappointed in KitchenAid!

After using this well cared for wire whisk attachment for over a decade, mine just started oxidizing out of the blue.  My dish/cookware cleaning methods and products have not changed.  After checking with the KitchenAid online site I find that I am not at all alone in this experience.  Not only do I not want stained food, I don't want questionable ingredients added by my kitchen tools.  Kitchen Aid - I need a new, true STAINLESS STEEL wire whisk for my tilt-head Artisan mixer!  Gratis!  This should never happen.

Wire Whisk oxidized? Yes, mine too.

I bought this to replace mine where the handle oxidized. It got black all over your hand when touched. The replacement did the same! I began to whip cream yesterday for a cake to bring to a friend and didn't use it for fear of contamination. Luckily, i had a small hand mixer.

I've had this whisk attachment for a couple of years, most of which have been spent struggling against its constant tendency to pop out of alignment and damage the bowl. For reference, I'm using it to whip cream, eggs and — at most — room-temperature cream cheese with milk. Also, since I have a paranoid distrust of dishwashers, I always hand-wash the whisk. So, there's really no excuse for such a poor-quality product.

Cheap, poor construction

I have LOVED my KitchenAid Stand Mixer. It has been LIFE changing!!  But I have the wire whip/whisk that oxidizes in the dishwasher and EVERY TIME I USE IT, it gets my hands dirty...



I give the Stand Mixer 10 stars (out of 5! LOL It's THAT good!) But this one issue, a constantly dirty whisk, brings me down to the 1 star review...  I avoid making recipes that require me to use this whip! I've had it for over 6 years and LOVE it!! I make veggie pasta, cakes & cookies, ice cream, etc with it! LOVE IT!!! But this whip just makes me sad...



It's so strange that a brand like KitchenAid (and I have 3 mixing bowls because I use it so much, the ice cream maker, the spiralizer set and the lasagna peeler for veggie pasta set as well as one of their microwave/convection ovens) would go cheap here on the MOST USED adaptor for the stand mixer...

I am not satisfied having spent so much on a whisk that turns everything black! I thought I could scrub it off but it only made it worse. I sparingly use the attachment because I'm afraid it will stain everything or touch my food! I need the whisk attachment.

It's frustrating to have to buy another whisk that's stainless steel because the one included with your Kitchen-aide immediately oxidizes. Why doesn't a stainless steel pieces get added as part of the original package vs having to go back and buy another whisk all over again. In reading the reviews it's the same complaint with everyone. Now I have to buy another whisk. I feel like I was scammed with this whisk.

The representative Molly didn't care and provided poor customer service. One of our items arrived fine and the whisk had an awful smell and sticky texture and they expect me to pay shipping to return it... I definitely don't recommend purchasing from them directly.
