Delivers strong bass throughout the room.

I purchased these for music listening. I had been using a vintage pair of Advent mini bookshelf speakers but wanted something much better. The Klipsch speakers sit on a shelf about 4.5 feet high and about 6-7" from the wall. I listen from about 15 feet away, slightly below axis. My audio sources are all analog (AR XA turntable and Sony tape decks). I have been listening to everything (Stan Getz, Chicago, ELO, The Cure). So far, these speakers are amazing. I do not find them overly bright, as many reviewers have said. I actually find them very neutral and accurate. The bass is very good. I could easily tell a standup bass from an electric. I can hear the breathiness of Stan Getz sax playing. One of the most noticeable abilities of these speakers is to reproduce drums and cymbals accurately. I could hear things I hadn't noticed before (little accidental rim shots, the sound of the wooden drumstick hitting the bell of the ride cymbal. Not just the cymbal but the sound of the stick). I listened to a vinyl copy of ELOs second album.  My old Advent's failed miserably on this one (in fact it was painful).  These Klipsch speakers reproduced everything flawlessly. I don't think I have ever enjoyed this album as much. The strings, synths and even Jeff Lynn's guitar all sounded amazing and coherent, as they were intended.  This morning, I listened to a copy of Moody Blues Days of Future Passed from a cassette tape (with Dolby). Again, the sound was great. I forgot I was listening to a cassette. I was doubtful that speakers this small and inexpensive could really do what Klipsch is known for, but these really sound amazing.  They are bright and clear but seem very accurate and detailed. I don't like dull speakers but didn't want excessively bright either. These seem to be just right.

First of,it's small and compact sits right in to our speaker rack,easy installation with Ofc connector jack,banana or y-type,6 feet connector jack to other speaker,perfect whistle sound with a combination of strong to mild bass through out the room, this particular speaker are my ,must get for the money,very good sounding speakers to play your fav movie all night or all day music,acustic or heavy bass to mild bass,this speaker's delivers what you expect from Klipsch , will and probably purchase more or upgrade to 600M or similar,overall,this actually a steal,recommend AAA,

I purchased these as the surround speakers for my 7.2 system in my study. But moved them onto my wife's Fosi BT30D Pro 2.1 system for her to test. She refuses to give them back! Wifee is a piano player of great talent and ability, and she says that piano sounds amazing on her system, with just a very cheap Pioneer passive subwoofer to back them up. These are efficient speakers, and they get a proper thrashing in her study. Their very mid-forward voicing makes them ideal for critical listening, and intently listening alike. If you find them a little bright, DO NOT try to EQ them by reducing the HF bands! The correct way to balance the mid-forward voicing is to add 1 and possibly 2dB to the 150-180Hz band. This creates a more solid foundation for the upper tones, and binds the music together - if you feel the need.

Superb

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the shelf speakers as a sample to review.  I connected them to a Sony receiver and they sound fantastic.  Just listening to them as 2 channel speakers (no subwoofer) they sound great, with deep bass, great highs and really really nice mids.  I really like going with a jazzy style equalizer settings, and these performed phenomenally.

The sound is amazing coming from these speakers! They are perfect for my room and recommend them for any enthusiasts!
