I camp in Texas. I am exposed to all different types of terrain here. A lot of rocks and edges. I am a big guy, 6'5" 300+. This mat is great. I have been using the Klymit V lux which is a great lighter weight alternative but the Klymaloft was like a mattress. :)

I used the Klymaloft pad on a recent beach camping trip. The pad held up well for two adults and a dog. The foam was super plush and did not lose any air on the cold ground. An air pump is necessary for the inflation of this mattress. I move around quite a bit in my sleep and my wife always complains about it the next morning. The foam absorbed all of my movement, keeping my wife happy and unable to feel my rustling. This mattress takes up about as much space as our queen-sized air mattress without a foam topper. Closing the air valve was kind of tricky to get the hang of. I highly recommend this mattress for anyone car camping that wants to avoid the cold, hard ground.

I used the Klymaloft pad

Took this on a 26 day fly out guiding season. Camp was ravaged by bears multiple times and I was blown away to see this thing never popped. Had a juvenile black bear walk on the inflated mattress and it never leaked. It's on the heavy end but the gained comfort was worth it if not packing it in.

Bear tested, bear approved

I'm a side sleeper and love that this think plush foam sits above a cloud of air. I will say that blowing this up yourself is a massive task. Take a pump. I posted the Klymit USB rechargable pump because of the custom tip that couples with most Klymit products. We slept on the mat in our tent and then also inside the house just as a way to get six more nights on it to see how it held up. the temps in Texas have been all over the place and as you could guess that plays with the fill on the pad. I found on cold nights I had to add a little air and when the temps went from 30s to 80s I let out lots of air . normal Double bed sheets fit on this pad without issue. two sleeping bags also fit without issue. two poeple on the pad don't cause disturbence like with other sleeping pads so that was an awesome plus! I 've been called an energetic sleeper.

Our plan is to use this inside of our GFC Superlite RTT when it comes in early spring. And I'll post more when we have that on the roof and ready to roll.

My DBL Sleep Pad

This sleeping pad will give you a hotel-quality mattress when traveling. It is quite large (which is partly why it is so comfy) so it is not backpacking compatible. If you are car camping, or even for use in your house as an extra guest bed, it will give good quality sleep.

Plush sleeping setup

I'm 6'5" and 250 lbs. I realize the R factor is not the best for this pad but there are minor mitigating steps you can take to make this a solid very early spring to very late fall pad. To take it into Wisconsin winter conditions , I bought a second pad, a 1/2 inch thick foam Sovatta military pad, and the two together allow me to sleep on a tent floor in very cold conditions. For comfort I don't even inflate it half way. It is really the best in comfort. I'm happy with it and I'm not looking to buy any other pad. Cheers

Review of the XL

I do a lot of car camping. I got this sleeping pad to see if I could be comfortable on something smaller then the over sized cot and sleeping pad solution I have used for years. In the past I have experimented with solutions and been less then comfortable. I am very happy to say that the Klymaloft is the solution I have been looking for. I sleep on my side a lot and this pad is perfect for that extra pressure on my hips and shoulders. I am so pleased that I slept through each night of camping without waking up from being uncomfortable. This is an awesome sleeping pad for my car camping needs.

Side sleeper heaven

I'm a bit conflicted on how to rate this pad because for the cost its a great pad but it also wasn't as comfortable as I was hoping. So far I have slept on it a total of four nights. I slept decent but woke up throughout the night with hip pain. I think I inflated the pad to much and made it a bit to firm so every night I tested it with slightly less air and while it got a bit more comfortable each night it still wasn't quite what I was hoping for... might need a few more nights to know more. As far as size the pad is awesome... both my wife and I slept on it and had plenty of room both length and width. I think with i few more uses/finding the right firmness I will really love this pad

Klymaloft Double Sleeping Pad

This is my new favorite sleeping pad for car camping! It is so thick- I measured it at nearly 5 inches tall when fully inflated. The mix of air and foam topper was perfect- I am a side sleeper and it was so so comfortable for me. The reversible inflate/deflate valve is genius, and the pad inflated super quickly (the XL in ~2 min). The XL is HUGE- I had plenty of room to stretch out and roll around. It does require a pump to inflate and is a bit heavy for a long backpacking trip, but for car camping or guests it is perfect. Unfortunately it did deflate quite a bit overnight, but it was quick and easy to reinflate the next day. I also was unable to close the cover for the valve, but as the valve is self sealing this wasn't a big issue. Overall a good quality, super comfortable pad perfect for car camping.

So comfortable, but...

I purchased this to take traveling when I need extra padding on hotel or cruise ship beds. This is comfortable, but noisy. I can't move without it crinkling.

I wish I could give this item a high score, the other reviews showed promise, but for some reason this never stays inflated. From the very first time I used it, and every time afterwards. The air intake and outtake valve is poorly designed, and doesn't lock like Klymit's other products (I have their static V single person air mat, which has never given me any problems). Quite dissapointed.
